Head injuries
A patient was admitted to the hospital after a road traffic
accident.
After assessment of ABC, he was observed for head injury.
Findings are:
Eye opening to pain, incomprehensible speech, flexion motor
response,
Scalp contusion on right temporal region, right pupil is 5mm, left
pupil is 3mm,
Left upper and lower limbs power is grad 3, blood pressure is
160/100mm hg, and pulse rate is 56/min.
1) This patient’s Glsgow Coma Scale is
a) 5/15
b) 6/15
c) 7/15
d) 8/15
e) 9/15

2) Appropriate investigation in this condition is,
a) Skull X-ray.
b) Full blood count.
c) MRI scan head.
d) CT scan head.
e) X ray cervical spine.

3) According to the findings most probable developed
complication is,
a) Extra Dural hemorrhage.
b) Acute sub dural hemorrhage.
c) Sub acute sub dural hemorrhage.
d) Brain herniation.

e) Brain ischemia.
