More die in workplace than in war
“Work place accidents and illnesses kill more people a year than war”1 “An average of 6,000 people die every day from ailments or accidents related to their work – that’s the equivalent of one death every 15 seconds, or 2.2 million per year.” 2
“Twice as many men as women die at work because they are more likely to carry out dangerous tasks”
“Accidents kill 350,000 people but five times as many die through sickness contracted on the job through exposure to poisonous chemical”

2000 cubic meters LPG sphere The accident happened during hydrotest. The sphere legs collapsed over 2 workers, leaving one killed and one seriously injured. At the time of the accident, the sphere was approximately 80% full of fresh water. The last inspection on its legs was dated 1995. It can be noticed by the picture severe corrosion on the legs under the concrete fire protection. The corrosion occurred due to water inside the concrete. The water protective cap located over the concrete was not sufficient to keep the water out. After the accident, it was verified that the legs thickness had reductions of up to 8mm, with pitholes of up to 10 square centimeters.
