ACI Employee Raybel Compres Named Outstanding Welder of the Year  at U.A. Mechanical Trade School Graduation 
Compres’ achievement continues tradition of top honors for ACI employees     Washington, D.C. – Raybel Compres, a resident of Silver Spring, MD and an ACI employee for more than  5 years, was recently named the Outstanding Welder of the Year at the United Association Mechanical  Trade School graduation, Local 602.  To receive this honor, Compres completed over 1,100 classroom  hours and 10,100 hours of on‐the‐job training at ACI.  He has earned 9 different welding certifications  (1MCS, 2MCS, 2.3‐D1.1‐S, 3MCS, 4TMCS, UA21, UA60, UA61 and UA63). Mr. Compres spent most of his  apprenticeship working under one of ACI’s most distinguished journeyman, Ray Cary.  Compres worked  primarily on large‐scale HVAC projects at construction sites and for existing customer facilities.  Compres  maintained a 96.46 GPA, ranking him 13th in a graduating class of 109 steamfitters.  “I studied alongside some of the most skilled journeymen in the country, so I am extremely humbled to  be named the Outstanding Welder of the Year,” said Compres.  “Graduating with this distinction will  help me provide the best service that I can as I continue my career at ACI.”    The U.A. Mechanical Trade School in Maryland is recognized as one of the best vocational schools in the  country, training students for a career in the technical fields of air conditioning, heating and plumbing.   Students attend classes for five years, at no cost to them, learning skills that can earn highly coveted  jobs as a certified journeyman plumber/steamfitter upon graduation.      Compres’ achievement is the latest in over a decade of honors achieved by ACI employees from U.A.  Mechanical Trade School, including:     Jeffrey Oliver, 2010 Valedictorian   Gerald Oliver, 2009 Outstanding Welder of the Year   Clinton Zundel, 2008 Valedictorian and Outstanding Welder of the Year   Jamie “The Jet” Lathroum, 2004 Valedictorian   Daniel Peterman, 2004 Outstanding Welder of the Year   Robert Peterman Jr., 2003 Outstanding Welder of the Year   Lorenzo Guerra , 2002 Outstanding Welder of the Year   David Murphy, 1999 Outstanding Welder of the Year
