You get að list of servers in server list because in Windows Server 2012 you can install Role on any server form any server.This i new in Windows Server 2012. When installing Role on Windows Server 2012, Server automatic add additional Features that is requered for each Role you select. o In old days of Windows Server you had know what additional features you haved to install when instlling Roles on server. In other words you need some stuff to install Role on server. You dont have to do this now because Windows server automaticly add features that need to be installed. This is new in Windows Server 2012 o For example when installing Active Directory it automaticly add features and role you need to install Active Directory. Tools like Group Policy Management.

Forest Functional Level o You select how far back you are going to support operationg system. You can go as far as Windows Server 2003. If you are going to support Windows Server 2003 Domina Controler in funcional level you select Windows Server 2003. In other words What is the olderst domina controler you are going to support. Domain Functional Level o What is the olderst domian functional level you are going to support. Domain Name Systemm ( DNS ) server o You have to use dns for Active Directoy funcionality.  Security and Funcion Global Catalog o Global Catalog helps searching in Active Directoy o Its like yellow pages in Active Directory When specify location for AD DS datababase its good to store this information on other disk to increase perfomance. You can export powerhell scipt to file and use it to create other servers.
