Notice for Second Round of M.Tech. Admissions (2011-12) for ‘Automotive Technology’ Programme
1) Due to the recent approval (July 2011) for additional seats in the M. Tech „Automotive Technology‟ programme, applications are invited from those candidates who are willing to take admission under Sponsored category with or without valid GATE score. 2) Automotive Technology programme is a self financed programme. It is run by COEP in collaboration with Automotive Research Association of India, Pune (ARAI) and University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Engineering, USA. 3) The B.Tech. or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering is the necessary qualification with at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) Candidate must have 2 years experience as on 18 July 2011. 4) Rules of admissions will be as per the G.R. No.TEM2011/(64/2011)TE-4 dated 10 May 2011 of Govt. of Maharashtra. 5) There are 9 seats for Sponsored category with or without valid GATE score and 13 seats for Non-sponsored with valid GATE score. The 13 seats of Nonsponsored GATE category will be reserved as 7 Open, 2 SC, 1 ST, 1 NT and 2 OBC. 6) The sequence of admission based on general merit list will be as follows. Subsequent rounds will be conducted if vacant seats are available. 1A. GATE Sponsored Candidates 1B. Non GATE Sponsored Candidates 2A. GATE Non-Sponsored Candidates based on general merit list (There will not be 2B round.) 2C. GATE Non-Sponsored Candidates Gr-I (SC,ST) and Gr-II(OBC,NT) 2D. GATE Non-Sponsored Candidates for all reserved candidates 2E. GATE Non-Sponsored Candidates including reserved and open candidates 3. Non-GATE Non-Sponsored candidates 7) Admissions under non-sponsored category with valid GATE score will be conducted from the existing merit list with college. Hence candidates interested in Non-sponsored category (GATE or Non-GATE) need NOT apply. 8) The candidates - newly applying and who have already applied - for the Sponsored Non-GATE category will have to be present for the entrance test and interview on 22 July 2011 in the Mechanical Engineering Department, College of Engineering, Pune.

9) Applications are to be made on-line from 18 to 21 July 2011 on the college website. On-line application process will be stopped at 5.00 pm on 21 July 2011. 10) Candidate has to submit the following documents on 22 July 2011 by 10.30am in the Student’s Section of College of Engineering, Pune. a. b. c. d. e. The singed hard copy of the application Attested copy of BE/BTech marklist Candidate‟s photograph, Sponsorship letter from the present employer in the prescribed format and Demand draft of amount Rs. 800/- in favor of “The Director, College of Engineering, Pune” payable at Pune for the application process

When admission is offered, the candidate has to pay the college fee in the form of a separate demand draft drawn in favor of “The Director, College of Engineering, Pune” payable at Pune (Rs. 1,44,000/- for Sponsored candidates and Rs. 1,14,500/- for Non-sponsored candidate). He has to submit the originals of College leaving certificate and/or Transfer certificate. 11) Admissions for Sponsored and Non-sponsored categories will be conducted on 22 and 23 July 2011.
