Film Festival Guide
Boasting dozens upon dozens of homegrown events anchored by a few of the country’s most visible festivals, San Francisco has slowly but surely evolved into the quintessential film festival town. To help you claim your hometown bragging rights, Release Print magazine gives you the first ever San Francisco Film Festival Guide, an indispensable list of local festivals with submission deadlines, contact information, and programming descriptions. We have attempted to include, without discrimination, all of the festivals within the San Francisco-Berkeley-Oakland triangle, and have tossed in a few other regional offerings that are too fabulous to ignore. Festivals are listed alphabetically; to help you plan your weekends we have also included a list of festivals organized by month and a handy list of notable film series and showcases that you won’t want to miss. —Compiled by Marcia Scott
