“TEA- Time”
Saturday, April 21st from 10am12pm, the Women’s Koinonia will be a Mother and Daughter Tea. This year instead of grabbing your “hat”, you will be wanting to tie on your calico apron. No those cute little apron’s do not have to match, but that is an idea worth exploring. There is no need to feel left out from this event if you do not have a daughter or mother in town. Part of the “fun” is seeking out someone to be “mom or daughter” for the day! Be creative! Have fun! I must warn you though... you absolutely must sign-up EARLY, as seats fill-up fast!

Who I Am in Christ…
When I was a teenager I thought I wanted to be the “Popular Girl”, the one everyone looked to. The one who had the “cute” hairstyle, wore the “cute” jeans, seemed to have the “cutest” smile! When I was a young woman, married beginning my new life, with a husband and babies. I wanted what the other moms had; The “cute” house, the “cute” car and the “cute” namebrand kitchen appliances. Then God got ahold of me. Sat me down and explained something more. “What if they didn’t know ME like you do?” He asked me. “What if Jesus doesn’t live in their heart?” I thought about that… I am God’s Child...that’s who I am in Christ.. I decided to learn to be CONTENT… and rejoice!

A Confident Heart by Renee Swope
Ever feel like your not good enough, or valuable enough? Are you always doubting yourself and living life with insecurities instead of living life fully, trusting God completely? Instead of spending time focusing on “self” as the world would have you to do, spend time focusing on God and discover security living daily in Jesus Christ.

Why this book?
I don't know about you, but I know an honest evaluation of the time I spend on “me” is significantly great! These thoughts, conversations and focused events are not “fun” to admit and rather a bit embarrassing, and when it is all said and done the focus on “self” does nothing to bring joy to my life or others. I typically end up with a “feel-sorry-for-myself” or “pity-party” attitude. The book “ Confident Heart” by Renee Swope points you to God’s Word right from the beginning. Her writing is so relatable! This is a woman who has walked the road of life and struggled with doubt and fear. Renee shares how only through trusting in God and His Word will we find the solution to conquer all real fears, doubts and insecurities in our lives. Join us on Wednesday mornings for Joyful Books Book Club. We meet at 9:30 in the 3rd and 4th grade classroom. You can also read along at http:joyfullbooks.blogspot.com

Confidence in Jesus Christ Our Rock By Deanna Johnson

We have all fallen short of our own expectations or the expectations of others throughout our whole lives, before we were Christians and even after we have come to know the Lord Jesus. Trusting in our knowledge, talents and relationships outside of Jesus is like trusting in the branches to hold up the tree. However, the roots are what sustain the life of the tree. Life has many hardships and can be like destructive storms, but even a storm cannot pull up the deep roots that have been secured around a boulder. During the spring and summer months of life we bask in the beautiful sunshine and drink the water that refreshes us. Our roots grow deep and spread out. We touch other’s roots and possibly intertwine to help build a support for when winter comes. When the winter does come we are strong, though branches may break off here and there, our roots keep us secure and upright. Where the broken branches have fallen away, new branches may emerge stronger and even more beautiful.

Jeremiah 17:7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.” Where does your confidence stem from? Is your confidence upon yourself, your knowledge, your talents, your relations or upon the Lord Jesus Christ?

Isaiah 26:3-4 “You will keep him in perfect peace, You can all imagine a tree in Reno during the winter time; just whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in YAH, the Lord, is everlast- barren branches, almost lifeless in appearance. Insecurities are something I deal with regularly. But, I know that my confidence must not be upon myself for I will come short every time, my confidence must be upon my Lord, My sweet sisters, Jeremiah tells us to learn from the tree whose roots are spread over the rock as they go deep down Jesus. into the soil.
