BID /CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS

RE-WALK THEM THROUGH THE WORK AS DESCRIBED ASSESS CALENDAR AGAIN ASSESS WHAT PART EACH CONTRACTOR PLAYS/LIBRARY STAFF/VOLUNTEERS ADJUST AS NEEDED ALLOW EXTRA TIME AT THE END OF THE PROCESS – BEFORE REOPENING – REFURBISHING WE ALLOWED 2 WEEKS WE NEEDED IT. MAJOR CONSTRUCTION – 1 TO ½ MONTHS?

CHECK TRANSITIONS BETWEEN TILE & CARPET BEFORE HAND!  WHEN WE ADDED THE DETRA WAS GREAT INSURES TILE WILL NOT CRACK

 IT INCREASED HEIGHT BY 1/8 INCH WE HAD AN ADA TRANSITION PROBLEM  WE USED PATCHING MATERIAL TO FILL GAP AND TRANSITION TO CARPET.
Would “project manager” keep this from happening?
NO CONSTRUCTION PERSONNEL ANTICIPATED THIS! EXTRA COSTS ! Don’t blame, solve problem and encourage all involved

Decorating == The fun stuff!! Color Selection??

REOPENING
Cleanup, setup, reassemble, adjust, look over, dust, clean shelves and books, vacuum light fixtures, and work area. Counters, meeting rooms, offices, equipment, New equipment/software setup, tested Technology personnel Takes at least a week!!
