MOTION CONTROL ENGINEER
Job Summary
Will measure, troubleshoot & grow to design motion control in laser printers using velocity & position
feedback of motors. The systems shall range from phase lock loop controlled 50 KRPM laser polygon
motors, to PID controlled fractional horsepower brush & brushless dc motors controlled to produce less
than a micron of position error, to open loop step motor position systems. The position requires sizing
the motors and working with vendors to acquire the motors at a low cost. A "mechatronics"
background/interest, which is a hybrid skill mix of electrical and mechanical engineering, is ideal.
Qualifications
• Has BS degree Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (degree in MS is an added
advantage)
• Experience ins instrumentation and measurement specifically in microprocessor control is desirable
• With proven skills in Instrumentation and Measurement of position, velocity, acceleration and current
as well as electrical and mechanical aptitude, microprocessor controls, bode analysis
• Knowledgeable in step motor, dc & brushless dc motor including linear & digital control analysis and
design
MECHANICAL ENGINEERS
Job Summary
Will be responsible for the mechanical design, development, and performance verification of
components, subassemblies, and complete laser and inkjet printers.
Specific components will be in any of the following:
Coordination of the mechanical and program management development activities of business partners
who are developing products for Lexmark.
Mechanical design of components and subassemblies for laser printers
Performance verification of printer subsystems and print ers
Procurement and fabrication of prototype parts and assemblies
Root cause determination and corrective action identification of acoustical problems in laser and inkjet
printers
Qualifications
• Has BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (degree in MS is an added advantage)
• Has proven extensive knowledge in handson laboratory mechanical work, testing methods, and root
cause analysis
• Familiar with the manufacturing and design processes

GEAR TECHNOLOGY ENGINEER
Job Summary
A Mechanical Engineer with a demonstrated interest in mechanism and motion engineering, with indepth
understanding of gear design, manufacture and inspection or willingness to learn for the long –
term (more than 5 years)
Responsible for designing or advising on the design & manufacturing of all gearing for printers.
Responsibilities include:
• sizing to accommodate loads
• selection of pitch and numbers of teeth
• selection of materials and manufacturing processes
• tolerances of posts, center distances, gear errors
• acoustic and print quality effects
• knowledge of vendor capabilities
Qualifications
• Has BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (degree in MS is an added advantage)
• Competent in kinematics and dynamics, mechanism design, mechanical system dynamics and
vibrations, stress and strain, materials science, manufacturing processes
• Experience in Product Design and Development of gears, pulleys, rollingelement and journal bearings
or a willingness and aptitude to learn
• Knowledge of Transmission Error, and its dependence on load and speed;
Composite and Elemental inspection and tolerances
• Ability to discuss bode plots: amplification, damping, phase; forced and natural frequencies, spatial

Job Summary
Responsible for creating and debugging embedded microcode for printer controllers. Successful
candidates will be designing embedded codes for microcontroller and microprocessor controlled
systems to control hardware and electronic mechanisms such as motors and sensors. Other
responsibilities involve conducting research and evaluation of new technologies in the area of
embedded firmware development. Develop/Maintain documentations on the build status of the code.
Qualifications
• Has BS degree in any of the following: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics &
Communications Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (degree in MS is an added advantage)
• Professional experience in embedded firmware required
• Proficient in C programming language
• Strong fundamentals in electronics circuits theories
• Has strong backgrounds in microcontrollers and microprocessor systems
• Previous embedded firmware experience with motor and sensor applications is highly preferred
AME ENGINEER
Job Summary
• Supports the DE team throughout the product development stages by:
Ø Advising them on general guidelines of manufacturing in Asia.
Ø Providing the best cost information given design or concept details that are available
Ø Assisting in acquiring prototype parts for early development builds
Ø Establishing communication paths with selected Partners / Vendors
Ø Providing Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), Design for Quality (DFQ), and Design for
Service (DFS) advice
Ø Reviewing complex part prints to insure part inspectability
Ø Evaluating manufacturability of complex parts
• Release part prints to vendors
• Review tool drawings of complex parts
• Negotiate best tool cost for part design
• Implement engineering changes to parts as per Lexmark established procedures
• Perform part and assembly process FMEAs
• Approve components and tools based on Lexmark standards
• Troubleshoot tool and part process problems

This fulltime position is primarily a technical testing role working with an integrated team of developers,
product managers, and other test engineers. The primary objective of this candidate will be to drive the
software and firmware testing process through developing and execution of test scenarios, as well as
regression testing for Lexmark printer software and other software solutions. This position would also

Has a background in Fluids and Heat Transfer
Has an understanding of temperature measurement (thermocouples) and familiarity with data
acquisition systems
Previous instrumentation and LabVIEW programming experience is desirable
Must have a strong technical and communication skills and proficient in English.
