Job Posting Child Care Worker The Child Care Worker is responsible to provide a safe, caring, and developmentally appropriate early learning environment for a class between the ages of 12 months to four years. The Child Care Worker uses Centre philosophy, programs, and policies to maintain a standard of care that contributes to the centre’s reputation for excellence. The primary job duties and responsibilities for the Child Care Worker include but are not limited to the following: •
Use a variety of observation and documentation techniques

Follow schedule and prepare for the day’s activities

Facilitate cognitive, language, social, emotional, creative and physical development of children Develop, implement and evaluate programs Identify and implement appropriate intervention for children; educational and behavioural

Support the holistic development of all children
•
Build meaningful relationships with the children
•
Identify and expand upon learning opportunities
•
Maintain documents of child’s development
•
Meet Health, welfare, and safety needs
•
Protect children from physical and emotional harm
•
Record and report accident, incidents, and occurrences as required
•
Provide First Aid and CPR
•
Implement emergency and evacuation plans and security procedures and review safety related issues
•
Follow safe toilet and diapering procedures
•
Identify and report suspected cases of child abuse and neglect
•
Guide and observe children
•
Promote a healthy life style and eating
•
Actively supervise children at all times, including during outings and field trips
•
Develop and maintain a safe environment

Facilitate appropriate language, conflict resolution, empathy, problem solving, and coping skills Use and promote active listening skills Prepare record of ill health, medical procedures and the administration of medication Develop and maintain maintain a safe environment; implement safety standards and protocols for inside and outside
