Career Summary
An accomplished, highly trained, and professional manager with an
employment background in infantry soldiering. I have natural aptitude for

I have joined in the British Army Gurkhas in April 1969 and served in the 7 th
Duke Of Edinburgh’s Own Gurkha Rifles until December 1998. I have risen
through the ranks to Major, with twenty nine years of dedicated service and
my experience in management, training, security and command and control
is immense.
Military career has developed me with qualities of a good team
leader with technical expertise and ability to work under pressure,
maintain a good working relationship with peers and superiors in all
circumstances.
Management
I have well proven management experience and my natural charm allows
me to get on well with those who work for me. I was the President of the
Regimental Mess (Officers) for three years and before my retirement I
became the adviser of the Commanding Officer for two years. The

demanding circumstances.
Myself is a well organized and adaptable person with high level of integrity. I
accept the challenges that are placed upon me with great professionalism.
Training
Both formal and ‘on the job’ instruction for junior staf is an essential skill for
any military supervisory or manager. I have gained extensive experience of
class room and practical training. In Hong Kong , duties centered on the
border with constant patrolling to deter illegal immigrants and drug
smugglings, plus training in urban internal security work in case of civilian
insurrection. Also undertook an operational tour in the Falklands War in 1982
and Belize (Central America) for eight months in 1991.
Administration
As an Major, my responsibilities included advising the Commanding Officer
on the Gurkha cultural and spiritual matters, discipline of the Gurkha
soldiers, career profiles and welfare of all Gurkhas. I have worked in the

involving the administration, command and control, training, welfare and
career development of personnel under command.
