Prepare to be an effective equal employment opportunity (EEO) counselor. In this course, you learn about the Counselor’s roles and responsibilities. you study the laws and regulations that govern federal EEO and the federal EEO complaint procedure, including Title VII of the Civil Rights act of 1964; the Rehabilitation act of 1973; the americans with Disabilities act (aDa); the age Discrimination in Employment act of 1967; and the Equal Pay act of 1963 (EPa). you also learn about theories of discrimination, including disparate treatment, adverse impact and reasonable accommodation theories, and analyze fragmentation issues. you practice providing EEO counseling, including the initial intake session with an aggrieved person, and you acquire the skills you need to counsel employees and handle complaints.

Learn how to create an inclusive environment that capitalizes on today’s complex and dynamic workplace. you’ll understand the impact and value of differences—in backgrounds, generations, cultural experiences, perspectives, personality and heritage—and you’ll learn how your behaviors impact people differently.
