Officer Christopher Trim, EGPD Public Information Officer 916.478.8008 (Office) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 12, 2009 Arrests Made in Marijuana Growing Operation Elk Grove, CA – On August 12, 2009, the Elk Grove Police Department served several search warrants within Elk Grove and Sacramento related to a marijuana cultivation operation. The warrant service was led by detectives from the Narcotics and Street Crimes Units and the EGPD Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) team. The warrant service took place at the following locations: 8100 block of Drais Way (Elk Grove), 7900 block of Stevenson Ave. (Sacramento) and the 5200 block of Village Wood Dr. (Sacramento). Detectives located an indoor marijuana-growing operation at the Village Wood Dr. location along with approximately 681 marijuana plants and over ten pounds of processed marijuana. Two semi-automatic firearms were also recovered from the residences in Sacramento (one from each location). Detectives arrested Dalshawn Boson (6/14/73) and Jovanna Johnson (10/31/80) on charges of 11358 H&S (Produce or Cultivate Marijuana), 11359 H&S (Possession of Marijuana for sales), 11370.1 H&S (Possession of Drugs while Armed with Loaded Firearm) and 182(A)(1) PC (Conspiracy). Both individuals are currently being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail.
