FAIRYTALE OF A BROKEN HEART
Every fairytale starts with “once upon a time” and always end with “happily ever after” but for my story it’s quite different. Much time were meant to pass deliberately to forget the sound of your sweet voice. So that your memories will forever disappear and be devoured as each day, month and year pass by. But why do the cries of my heart are as strong as roaring bombs shocking my own personality, life, and secrets that are strained to keep hidden and eventually fails to do so? I have lost the battles for numerous times. I have been escaped by trance for many times with every lash of fate. But how come when every time I try to open my eyes it seems that a transparent light of truth pounds itself into my mind. The direction that I am treading is crooked like the path of the Amazon River Cyclical and winding. Wide, narrow, shallow and at times, as deep as the heart of the deepest ocean pulling me deeper, drowning me every second when I keep myself immersed in fantasy. But how can you tell to a heart filled with anticipation that you cannot, that it’s impossible, that there’s no destination? Here I am again, Compelled to try to fall in love, planning to climb the slippery slope of affection beyond to reach the peaks of pleasure. Pleasures of thinking that I will be cherished even just to make up for the love I offered. But true love is not unconditional as defined in the modern generation. What?! Who does not want to be loved in exchange for their love? Who does not hope that someday, someone will come to your rescue, carrying you in their loving arms? A person tries to hope each and every single day, wishing to live a life like a fairytale. Hoping that someday there will be a chance to get a glimpse and get noticed by the person you really love the most. Daydreaming in every minute, Sleeping, hoping that morning comes with the sweet fragrance of love waking you up in your deep slumber. Is not that lovely? Is there a chance to live a dream come true? Is there a chance to live life like a fairytale?
Raindrops are falling as the cold breezes of the wind blow. There was a person sitting at the side of the wall, smiling – as happy as ever. That person is me. Sitting, watching as the raindrops fall, cherishing the memory that only comes once in lifetime. That moment we shared waiting time to pass by, relaxing after the ravaging examinations. I didn’t hope that it would happen. As it took place, my heart wants to explode and scream, Leaping in happiness. That day ended perfectly. The next day I came to school full of anticipation and inspiration. But as I approach you, its just like it did not happen. It’s like you don’t even know me. I thought it was real but it was just a dream- A dream that someday, your love would carry me through but you woke me up pretending that it did not happen. Reality swept me away and I knew that I was just living a fairytale. I came so close to complete my happily ever after. So close to hold you in my arms. So close to see love come alive. So close beside you yet so far. But that will not stop me get my happily ever after someday. Even though I once lived my life with a broken heart, time will come that I will find love more than a storybook romance. I will trust my heart and simply try. For I know that there’s always a better life that's waiting past the mountains to be climbed. I will take a chance on Love and get my once upon a time. Like a fairytale of a broken heart.
