Concept and Design, Explained
Because SS&A already has a website, I wanted to keep most aspects of its online identity the same. I used most of the same colors, but I added some complimentary colors to accent the neutrals. I also used similar fonts (Century Gothic, like in the Straub, Seaman & Allen logo).

Michigan Court of Appeals Victory
8.24.11
News Type
James M. Straub and Donna B. Howard successfully defended Berrien County and its Administrator before the trial court and the Michigan Court of Appeals. Plaintiff had asserted multiple claims related to unlawful discharge from employment, including gender and disability discrimination, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and retaliation, after she resigned in lieu of being terminated from her employment as Economic Director of the County. The County defendants prevailed on summary judgment at the trial court, and after briefing and oral argument before the Court of Appeals, the trial court's dismissal of all the plaintiff's claims was unanimously affirmed by the Court of Appeals in December 2008. [Case: LaGrow v County of Berrien & William Wolf (Berrien Trial Court No. 05-003211-CD; Michigan Court of Appeals No 278064)]

About Straub, Seaman & Allen
Established in 1984, Straub, Seaman & Allen provides quality representation for businesses and individuals throughout Michigan and Indiana. To better serve our clients, we maintain offices in St. Joseph and Grand Rapids, Michigan. By hiring outstanding personnel and using the latest technology, we are able to solve complex problems, comply with detailed claims handling guidelines, manage cases in a cost efficient manner, and successfully handle even the most difficult litigation. Our varied and successful background enables us to effectively evaluate cases and provide sound legal advice. We pride ourselves on tailoring a strategy to meet the specific needs of each client. This is accomplished by identifying our clients' needs
and expectations, exploring available options and selecting the best means of achieving the client's goals. In addition to traditional strategies, we often suggest alternate forms of dispute resolution such as facilitative mediation and arbitration. While we encourage alternate dispute resolution as a cost- effective means of resolving litigation, there is no substitute for the ability to successfully represent clients in trial. Straub, Seaman and Allen has established an unparalleled reputation for successfully trying cases in all State and Federal Courts. We invite YOU to explore how Straub, Seaman and Allen can assist you in meeting your goals.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is an LLC or Corporation best for my business? How do I protect my business when leasing property? What Happens if I die without a will?
When a person dies his or her property becomes part of their “estate” and if a person dies without a will, he or she is said to die “intestate,” which literally means “to die without a will.” Any part of a decedent’s estate not effectively disposed of by will, passes by intestate succession to the decedent’s heirs as prescribed by State law. Michigan’s law of intestate succession attempts to reflect what most people would want most of the time if they paused long enough to think about questions such as “How do I want my worldly possessions distributed after I die,” or “Who will become the guardian of my minor children in the event of my death.” It is permissible to think of the Michigan law as creating a default estate plan for each person who dies without having made his or her own estate plan. Estate planning, including the drafting of wills and trusts, is the process whereby YOU develop and implement your own estate plan to reflect how YOU want your personal and financial affairs handled so that the courts do not decide these issues for you.
