Fisgard is a tax-exempt Mortgage Investment Corporation. We distribute 100% of our net profit to investors in the form of dividends and, since dividends paid to investors are treated as expenses for tax purposes, our company is not taxed. That means superior returns for our investors. Investors place cash and/or registered funds – like RRSPs, TFSAs or RESPs – in our 5 or 1-year terms. We invest that capital in mortgages secured by quality Canadian real estate property. The mortgages produce cash flow, which we pass on to you as dividends every quarter. You can take your dividends in cash for income, or reinvest your dividends so your money grows more quickly.

They’ve turned a small pension into a good income for us. We’re very impressed.” Fisgard started in Victoria’s Chinatown, in the Quonley heritage building at the corner of Fisgard and Government, near the Gates of Harmonious Interest. In 2004 we moved to Douglas Street, where we bought and renovated the Royal Bank building. Our company was named after Fisgard Lighthouse, which was built in 1860 in Esquimalt Harbour in Victoria. The lighthouse served as a beacon for the British Royal Navy’s Pacific Squadron, and is today home base for the Royal Canadian Navy. Now decommissioned, the lighthouse is a famous National Historic site visited by thousands of tourists each year, as the oldest lighthouse on the west coast of North America.
