Oracle Data Mining in the Amazon Cloud: Why, What, and How
Oracle Data Mining has been available on Amazon EC2 for several months. Many have used it in the cloud, so an interesting question arises: how is the cloud good for data mining and data mining good for the cloud? With cloud computing so accessible, this session shows how to get started on mining your data in the cloud, leveraging the publicly available Oracle Data Mining Amazon Machine Images (AMIs). To answer this question, the session demonstrates mining distributed data in the cloud, the scalability (rapid provisioning) of both Oracle Data Mining and the cloud for handling large-scale data mining problems, how to combine models created on different AMI instances, and how multiple users can work collaboratively in a cloud environment.
