Once considered a political up and comer, former State Assemblyman Ryan Karben of Rockland County was arrested for drunk driving Wednesday night, after his car hit a pole. Karben was elected to the New York State Assembly in 2002. He resigned from the legislature rather than face sanctions in the face of ethics complaints about his improper behavior with male interns. No formal complaint was ever filed against him. Karben has a private law practice and is deputy village attorney in Spring Valley. He was arraigned yesterday and released on his own recognizance. Commentary: Karben is an Orthodox Jew and married father of three. Oy vey!
