FORT COLLINS SYMPHONY ASSOCIATION |GRAPHIC DESIGNER JOB DESCRIPTION The Fort Collins Symphony Association is looking for a creative, experienced, project-oriented graphic designer who seeks to be an essential member of a team charged with achieving ambitious goals for the Fort Collins Symphony. This part-time position supports the Executive Staff by producing engaging marketing and collateral materials that reach target audiences for a wide array of events and programs throughout the year. Primary Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Design Duties:  Interacts with retained marketing agencies to understand Symphony brand, design templates, marketing strategies and target audiences.  Designs marketing and collateral pieces to meet specific requirements, budgets, timelines and goals of various events and programs (includes print and web materials).  Receives and implements feedback from Executive Director, keeping a positive and goal-oriented attitude.  Supports social media efforts by creating graphics that engage followers and increase response rates.  Interacts with third party vendors to shepherd projects through printing/production phases to ensure quality.  Updates Symphony website as directed using established administrative tools. Administrative / Development Duties:  Attends the meetings of the Board and its committees, when requested.  Assists with answering phones and greeting visitors.  Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.  Assists in the promotion of events and campaigns through public relation initiatives.  Collaborates with Executive Staff to outline how to best utilize resources to best achieve project objectives. Requirements:  Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in graphic design.  Minimum two years experience designing for web and print in a professional production setting.  Experience with file preparation and print coordination, including the ability to work with multiple vendors to ensure quality control, budgets and timelines.  Expert in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.  Experience with nonprofit organizations preferred.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form  Practical knowledge of social media.  Evidence of superior organizational, analytical and project management skills; consistent and accurate follow-through on projects; and experience managing multiple priorities; ability to learn quickly, create and analyze alternative solutions and make recommendations.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to handle multiple projects, establish priorities and meet deadlines with impeccable attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively across teams and departments to achieve goals. Must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion and to interact professionally and comfortably with donors, prospects and volunteers at all levels. Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Specifics: Reports to: Executive Director Status: 20 hours per week part-time; hourly employee working 100% on-site Compensation to be commensurate with individual experience and qualifications.
