PATHOPHYSIOLOGY Vehicular accident Injury to middle – distal 3rd tibia right leg – open, comminuted, min-displaced. Restricted function of right leg
Tissue swelling, bruising at the site of injury
Breakage in the skin
Shock
Bleeding from damage ends of bone & from surrounding soft tissue Increase diameter of the thigh due to continuous loss of blood Hypotension due to severe blood loss Tachycardia (stress response, hypovolemia) Fatigue, weakness on the affected extremity
Gait and mobility problem
