DURING THE TRANSFER
Restricted
Fuel transfers should be immediately stopped :
• A leaking pipe or hose is discovered, • If the containment boom is deployed, ice hazards may require releasing the boom, preventing effective immediate spill containment, • Vessel moorings fail or are not adequately securing the vessels, • Shifting of the transfer vessels locations due to wind or current that cause the containment boom to be compromised, • Increase in other safety or environmental risk factors that become elevated to an unsafe level
COMPLETION OF TRANSFER After completion of cargo transfer :
1. 2. 3. Hoses drained into the agreed upon tank, Hoses disconnected and securely blanked, Cargo manifolds should be securely blanked
Restricted
VESSEL INSPECTION
• All vessels used by Shell are required to be Inspected and Approved
Restricted
• Assurance that vessels adhere to International, Local and Shell Standards • Condition and management of the vessels are checked • Includes : Fuel Transfer Procedures – checked
