Press the Receiver Learn Code button on the power head receiver of your door operator. This small, black, unmarked
button is located behind the light lens at the motor head and is nearest the floppy 6 inch antenna wire that protrudes
from the motor head. When pressed, a radio signal indicator light will start blinking red for 30 seconds. **

**To erase all Intellicode remotes and wireless keyless entry, hold down on the learn button until the

Programming Digital Remote Transmitters with Internal Set Switches
These transmitters work by matching the settings on the internal code setting switches with the same set of switches in the receiver on the garage
ceiling. The receiver is located either behind the light lens of the Genie garage door opener motor head, or inside an external small rectangular box on
the ceiling, which is connected to the motor head by a set of wires. Note: the frequency of the transmitter must be the same frequency as the receiver
on the ceiling for it to work. Genie has been making the 390 MHz frequency exclusively for the last 15 years.

Programming Multi-Button Digital Remotes with Internal Set Switches
These garage door opener transmitters have 2 smaller switches to the right of the internal Code Setting Switches. The small right switch should be set
according to how many Code Setting Switches in your receiver (either 9 or 12). The small left switch is for programming purposes. To program a button
for one of your doors, follow the instructions below:

First, match the settings on the Internal Code Setting Switches with the same set of switches in the receiver on the
garage ceiling, as described in the previous programming instructions.
2. Next, move the small programming switch to 'S' (for SET) and press the transmitter button you wish to have
assigned to the above door.
3. Last, return the programming switch to 'R' (for RUN) and press the assigned transmitter button to test the door and
start the door moving. Follow the same procedure for each additional door you wish to program.

Installation of Genie GIC390 Intellicode Receiver
Terminals labeled 1, 2 and 3 on the Receiver are connected to their corresponding terminals on the garage door opener Power Head labeled 1, 2 and 3.
Color coded wires correspond as follows: White = 1, Black = 2, Red = 3. (Wiring connections inside the GIC receiver plastic cover are as follows: Red
= 1, Black = 2, White = 3. Note that these wire connections are in a different order than the connections to the motor head.)

Installation of Genie GIC390 Receiver Using 24 VAC Power Pak
Installations using a Power Pak plug-in will connect the two terminals on the power pack to terminals 1 and 3 on the receiver, color
coded white and red. The receiver's white wire (1) also connects to terminal 1 on the Garage Door Opener Power Head. The receiver's
remaining black wire (2) connects to terminal 2 on the Power Head.

HOMELINK IN-CAR REMOTE PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS
To program a built-in-car transmitter to a rolling code garage door opener (Genie rolling
code is called Intellicode, Liftmaster/Sears is called Security plus), you should take the
following steps.
Clear out anything previously programmed into the in-car system from the factory by holding down on the 2-outside
buttons simultaneously, until the in-car red light starts flashing rapidly. This may take up to a minute. (In a few
cases, some make cars require the keys to be in the ignition, or the car motor must be running, or the car door must
be shut)
2. Decide which button you want to make to be your in-car garage door transmitter. Hold your transmitter up near the
selected button, pressing both the garage door remote and the selected in-car transmitter button simultaneously.
Hold down on the buttons until the in-car, red light flashes rapidly. This sets the in-car remote transmitter to be
your garage door openers make transmitter, but you are not done. You now need to make this in-car transmitter
your personal transmitter.
3. Go to the Learn Button on your garage door opener. The button is usually next to the area where the floppy antenna
is connected to the motor head. With Genie it is most often behind the light lens, and an indicator light flashes red
when pressed. With Sears or Liftmaster (Chamberlain) it is near, or part of, the terminal screw board, and is a red,
green or purple square button with a green, amber or purple indicator light. Press this learn button momentarily.
The indicator light will turn on and blink if Genie or otherwise stay lit. Go back to the in-car transmitter button you
programmed and press this button 3 or 4 times, or until the door starts moving. This should set your in-car
transmitter to your garage door opener.
