GETTING PREGNANT AFTER MISCARRIAGE
You certainly get pregnant, even if:
Getting pregnant after miscarriage I had a miscarriage about 4 weeks ago. I am still waiting for my period to come so I can start try again. Are there any cautions to try again right away? Anything I should do differently to encourage a healthy pregnancy ing ing ? I got pregnant the following month. 9 months later I had a beutiful & healthy baby girl. All doctors have a different opinion about what you should do. I honestly think that y should try again when y feel that you are ready. ou ou posted 02/15/2009 by TBlanton16 Report this answer W as this answer helpful? 69 out of 74 found this helpful I had a miscarriage at 9-10 weeks on Nov 24th. Really do not know why since utrasound at 8 weeks had shown normal, healthy fetus. I did not need a D & C but did bleed for about 2 weeks after the miscarriage. I got a real period on Christmas Day which was about 20 day after I stopped bleeding from my miscarriage. I also took a pregnancy test after the period b/c I felt bloated and wondered... it came back negative. So in January we tried for the firt time s and I felt pregnant for about 2 weeks but thought may I was j ust wanting it so i was making up sy be mptoms.... I went to DR this week and we are 5 weeks pregnant. I do think y are most fertile for the couple months after y ou our miscarrige but you might need to wait until y have had one noraml period before your body will allowyou to get pregnant. I w nervous that we did not wait long enough. I have had different DR's tell me to wait 2-3 months ou as and some say no need to wait y our body will knowwhen it is time. My doctor advised me to wait for one full cy to start try cle ing. She said that if I did get pregnant before I had that first period, I could end up with another miscarriage because my hormones are so crazy and it would be difficult to sustain a pregnancy I figured one miscarriage was more than enough, so needless to say, I will definately wait a , . month. Hope this helps! posted 04/19/2008 by sand2005 Report this answer W as this answer helpful? 44 out of 47 found this helpful my doctor told me she believes your body will get pregnant when its ready to get pregnant... so as long as your dealing with it well emotiionally its ok to start trying right away... posted 09/28/2007 by a BabyCenter Member Report this answer W as this answer helpful? 50 out of 64 found this helpful i had a miscarriage in may, i was about 5 weeks along... then in j uly i found out i was pregnant.. according to my MD, i got pregnant a fewweeks after the miscarriage! weird, because i was trying NOT to get pregnant but it happened! my MD said that if your body is ready it'll do whatever it wants to do... she also added that the risks for all pregnancies are the same. i j ust hope that this one will be a healthy pregnancy. im about 9 weeks now, and i feel , completely fine, besides the morning sickness n farigue! all tests are normal, ultrasound is normal... i'll keep pray ing! posted 07/30/2009 by a BabyCenter Member Report this answer W as this answer helpful? 32 out of 32 found this helpful I was also told to wait 3 months after my D&C to try again; my baby stopped developing at 7 weeks (which is common for a miscarriage I was told). I got pregnant again after 4 months. It takes a while for y our hormone level to go down after a pregnancy which I didn't know at the time. So it took a month after the D&C for my cycle to start again. We started trying to get pregnant not long after that. But definately talk to y our doctor about this issue, especially if you miscarried naturally you may need a D&C. You don't want to get pregnant again with something left over in your uterus from the previous pergnancy . posted 08/29/2007 by SundyBee Report this answer W as this answer helpful? 46 out of 62 found this helpful I had a miscarriage 7 weeks ago, I j ust found out 2 weeks ago that I am 6 weeks pregnant, I got pregnant 1 week after my miscarriage, mydoctor says everything should be fine and my chances of having another miscarriage are no greater than they were before goodluck ladies posted 01/11/2010 by stressedmamaof3 Report this answer W as this answer helpful? 28 out of 28 found this helpful i had a miscarriage at 6 six weeks 5 weeks ago. i was waiting to start my period and then discovered that i am pregnant!! i must have ovulated 2 w ! eeks after!! ! posted 07/02/2009 by evelyndowns Report this answer W as this answer helpful? 29 out of 31 found this helpful It's so great to hear the encouragement of these posts. I also enjoy hearing that every one is trusting in God for the timing that is right! I am j ust at the end of my first pregnancy, a miscarriage ending. It has been so traumatic and sad, but I knowthere is hope we will conceive again soon. God bless to all those that are try ing! I elected not to have the D&C and it resulted in 45 day of bleeding/spotting and two months of irregular periods. I had to go on a low s dose of birth control to get my hormones back in line. As for getting pregnant again my doctor stressed that it is best to wait until my hormones returned to normal. He even had my HCG level checked every 2-3 weeks. Once they returned to normal he said to wait one cycle and then try again. Not every doctor is willing to do this but since I am older mine wanted to make sure I had another opportunity as soon as possible. Good Luck posted 03/05/2008 by Chuchilla
