HDPE pipes deliver safe and clean water. These pipes offer numerous advantages such as chemical resistance, corrosion resistance, non-toxicity, longer life cycle, better impact strength, light weight, lower installation costs, energy savings etc. HDPE Pipes for Entrepreneurs Entrepreneurs are interested in high volume business bringing in a higher net profit. Monetary gains in terms of net profitability helps entrepreneurs in deciding on the selection of a new product while entering any line. The other element that contributes to higher net profitability is a higher product mix leading to higher capacity utilization and the distribution pattern. Achieving a higher product mix with more number of products which can be produced on a single machinery leads to a lesser dependence on a single product, and would result into minimal risks in business. New products, new applications, new end uses of HDPE pipes makes it possible for the entrepreneurs to achieve a higher product mix and higher net profitability. Versatility of the extruder capable of producing products either using the same polymer or different polymers brings in a higher growth of the pipe industry and could lead to more new units in the country. A higher product mix leads to a lesser dependence on a single product increasing the average net selling price of the project would lead to a more viable business. Existing HDPE pipe processors can look at gas applications leading to a higher product mix. HDPE Pipes for Drinking Water HDPE emerges as a key solution for this application making it possible to drink clean water which is free from rust and corrosion. Not only does HDPE offer an ideal solution for drinking water but leads to tremendous amount of savings in the cost of pipes in comparison to pipes made from traditional materials. The advantages of HDPE are numerous coupled with low cost based on total life cycle analysis resulting in substantial savings. A very promising future exists for pipe application making it a very important sector in the field of plastics increasing the consumption of High Density Polyethylene. These pipes are a boon to our country due to its lower life cycle costs & its inherent advantages : Filtered water mains and distribution chilled water circulation Advantages – Unit cost of water delivered, over 50 years lowest cost Government Institutions related to Urban & Rural Infrastructure for Water Supply as well as Sewerage Boards have started using HDPE Pipes. There is much scope beyond water supply. Major Applications of HDPE Pipes 1. Agriculture Flow line irrigation, lift irrigation, suction/delivery of pumps, siphons, tube-well pipes, water supplies, pesticide spraying system, drip irrigation Advantages – Life of pipe upto 50 years, Corrosion resistance, PE Pipes are much lighter than metal pipes making transportation and assembling easier 2. Submarine & Underwater Pipeline Pipeline effluents, marine outfalls, salt-water intake lines, rivers/canal crossings under-water. Advantages – Superior corrosion resistance, superior wear resistance, chemical resistance, lighter, better impact

3. Gas/Compressed Air System Natural gas and coal gas conveyance and consumer distribution, conveyance and distribution of sewage gas, gobar gas, community biogas schemes, compressed air supply, networks at construction sites, mines and factories, air conditioning and ventilation ducts. Advantages – Leak proof joint, Better impact, Better crack propagation, Insulation property 4. Hydro-Transport Systems Iron/tin ore slurry disposal, boiler ash handling, coal, cement/clinker handling, sand slurry conveyance in mines, sand slurry disposal in dredging. Advantages – Corrosion resistance, Abrasion resistance, Better impact 5. Chemicals & Edibles Transport Conveyance of edible oils, fruit pulp and juices, milk and brine water, conveyance of acids, alkalies and other corrosive chemicals Advantages – Chemical resistance, Corrosion resistance, Non toxic and food grade 6. Effluent & Waste Water Disposal Systems Corrosive chemicals effluents, treated/untreated wastes and radioactive waste Advantages – Chemical resistance, Corrosion resistance Other End Uses Acid Filling Stations Apparatus & plant engineering Automotive Industry Breweries Compressed air equipment Construction industry Decontamination plants Electroplating Fish processing industry Floor heating systems Water supplies

Major Advantages of Other End Uses

• Corrosion resistance • Non toxic • Durability • Light Weight

• Chemical resistance • Long life • Impact strength • Lower Installation cost

HDPE Pipes for Gas Application Achieving higher volumes of business contributing in catalyzing the growth of the plastic processing industry which revolves around business such as pipe business bringing in more number of higher investments in the country would lead to higher polymer consumption. Salient Features High corrosion resistance, resulting into a longer life Extremely light weight and hence easy to handle High abrasion resistance Earthquake resistance High UV resistance to scaling and biological build up Emergency connection possible High impact strength No Exfiltration and infiltration, helps maintain the quality of fluid conveyed High flexibility Excellent water hammer characteristic helps, sustaining surges Shifting soils-no breakage Excellent flow characteristic leading to significant energy savings High chemical resistance PE pipe installations are the most competitive due to the combination of the following key advantages :  Ease of handling because of flexibility and light weight  Leak-tight installation due to excellent fusion welding possibilities  Long life with operational costs  Capability for relining existing pipelines  Possibility for on-site extrusion, alternative installations  Chemical resistance PE100 is indigenously available and is manufactured by local polymer producers.
