Saif Zia How does the government affect businesses?

11A

Within this report I will be evaluating how different aspects of the government affect businesses on a regular basis. To begin with, regulations are laws/rules which are put in place and maintained by an authority. The government-the country’s main authority, intervene in industries to regulate them accordingly, affecting the businesses within that industry. The main reason for this is to correct market failures which may occur such as if a particular segment of a market is not running as efficient as it could be. Therefore they imply regulations to make sure utility is maximised all over the market. Alongside this, the government want to reduce the risk of monopolies so that there is more than one supplier of one commodity for example, as this is better for the economy.
