How To Get A Job Have you ever been unemployed or are you currently unemployed and trying desperately to get a job, but you are always unsuccessful? Well, worry no more in this essay I will give you information on how you can successfully land a job. To get a job it would be helpful to know what you are interested in. For example if you hate being inside and working behind a desk but you do love to work outdoors then you will want to look for a job where you can be outside having fun. Maybe that could be landscaping or a construction or something completely different, the point is before you even start looking for a job you need to know where your interests are. You will also need to know what type of pay you need and if there will be any special scheduling that you may need. For example if you need to pay rent; you will want to look at how much rent is and how often you need to pay it. Another example could be that you need Tuesday’s off because you are a volunteer at a hospital; you will need to request Tuesday’s off for your volunteer work. After you know what you know what kind of jobs you may be interested in. Then you may want to prepare your resume with all your qualifications and the skills required that would be a benefit to the company. For example you may have taken first aid, and WHIMIS, these should be added into your resume. Remember your resume reflects who you are as a person. You will also want to make sure that your references are up to date and will speak well of you. Write down the jobs you like that would fit within your qualifications and interests so that you can send in applications. Remember to look at a variety of jobs in your area of interest. The more businesses you contact the better chance you get for a call back asking for an interview. You just got an interview from one of the businesses that you applied to. Now that you have an interview, it might help for you to practice in the mirror a few times what you are going to say. Also write down any questions or concerns that you may have. So that when it comes time to go to the interview you are not as nervous and get answers to your questions/concerns. You may also want to research the company you have an interview with and write down a few interesting points that you can discuss in the interview. On the day of the interview prepare yourself mentally, physically and emotionally for the day ahead of you. Physically try to eat a healthy breakfast that will give you the energy that you need so that you are not tired in the interview. You will want to make sure that you have a presentable appearance. For example shower, shave and brushing your teeth before the interview. Also you will want to dress accordingly to the job you have applied for. A simple pair of dress clothes will do for most jobs nothing to elegant but not too casual either, remember that you are trying to make a good impression on the employer. Under no circumstances should you ever wear jeans or a hat to an interview. Emotionally stay positive, relax, and visualize a positive and comfortable environment. If the job that you are applying for requires a special portfolio or something else other than your resume and references make sure that you bring it with you to the interview.

Upon arriving at the interview ask for the interviewer that you will be with then wait patiently till either they tell you to go in or till the interviewer comes out to greet you. When greeting the interviewer be courteous and friendly in speech and body language. Calmly introduce yourself and state your interests in the company. In the interview you will be asked a variety of questions about yourself. Answer all of them truthfully and to the best of your understanding, never lie to them even if it makes you look bad because they will be able to tell. If the interviewer asks about you they do not mean personally they mean business wise. You might be requested to provide examples of your skills that you may have picked up from previous experiences in the workforce. If there are any questions or concerns you have be sure to ask them so you can get answers. After the interview thank the interviewer for his time and patience then restate your interest in the business. A few weeks later you get a call or a letter telling you that you have been hired and they would like you to start as soon as possible. Be sure to thank them again and tell them when you can start. One more thing you should do is send a thank you letter to the interviewer thanking them for their time and patience and that you are very grateful for this position. Not many people do this so it would be a good way to stand out. In conclusion this essay taught you the basic steps on how to get a job. Just remember to follow these steps as closely as possible. Stay focused stick to an area of interest and look from there. No matter what happens stay positive because if you don’t succeed the first time try and try again.

Why Is It Hard To Find a Good Job? Why it is hard to find a good job in today’s world with just a high school diploma? I feel like over the years’ time has changed. All though a lot of jobs require a high school diploma it’s yet hard to find one especially in after a recession. In today’s world I feel it’s gotten a bit harder in finding a job with just a high school diploma. I’ve noticed that that a college degree is now starting to be looked at as a regular accomplishment not. High school use to be the one big thing but I feel you have to make it through college in order to find a good job in today’s economy. I’ve had many friends graduate from college and not find a use of their bachelor’s degree. I believe you can still make it with a college degree but if you want to be successful for sure you may have to further your education with a PHD or a Master’s degree. I feel like there isn’t many jobs out there for people and if there is you’re on the same list with about ten others and it all comes down to who has a better resume. I feel like if you are just as good as a professional you shouldn’t have to go to college for as long as someone who isn’t as good; me speaking Spanish for example; I believe I should only have to take a few of the highest level of Spanish classes and if I was to pass them I should move onto the education classes and be able to grad with less classes that aren’t necessary. I’ve had two sisters move out from New York in search of a better life along with a better job. Although mortgage and car insurance is cheaper in the state of North Carolina yet finding a job still isn’t easy. My sister Roxanne moved out from New York and it took her about three months to find a job. Within those the three months she decided to go back to school and get her generational education diploma. While she was working on getting her diploma within the three months she was applying for jobs; she finally got a call back from my mom’s job and they asked her to come in for an interview. She was lucky on having to wait three month my dad in New York who has no education has been without a job for about a year if not a bit more. There are a few jobs out there but the pay isn’t all that great so no one really considers then. A few people may take a low pay job and may barely get by but I’m sure they won’t be doing it for long. I think the average time on getting a job that you’d like or in your profession if you have a degree is about three months to a year. Why can’t I find a job I like? Those reasons are a handful for me. I want a job where I can use some of my skills I run track and cross country and I speak Spanish. I plan on opening my own barbershop someday that way I can enjoy doing something I’m good at other than running and a few other things that way I can make my own money and don’t have to be bossed around by no one, So my plan to make my profession and own money rather than going out and looking for a job is to have my own local barbershop. Unless I find a great paying job where I can use my skills and has an awesome pay rate I’m all in for it. Trying to find a job isn’t always the easiest thing in the world. Well at least not like it used to be. No days you have to have a good resume and good skills and good hook ups we can add. Without hook ups it’s going to be a bit hard trying to get a job on your own. Always shave a lot of friends cause many of them will help you put or will know of job opening and sometimes will put in a good word for you. Be sure to get our education in college and make a use of that profession you decide to take because a lot of students graduate with something but never know how to put a use in it.

Getting Job Getting a Good job is every one’s dream and desire. For somebody it looks like climbing a mountain while for some others it is like a cake walk. Let us discuss in this essay about climbing a mountain or eating a cake. The world has three group of peoples. A) educated b) half educated and c) uneducated.. The main problem is finding a job for each group. In present times of economic slowdown and recession, jobs are hard to come by. Not only government, the multinationals are also downsizing the employees and workforce strength. Therefore qualified young men and women flock employment exchange to suit their abilities and attainments. In this world nothing is available free. Everyone has to pay a price for their actions. A good job is possible by good education only. Getting a good job is one of the biggest and most important challenges that you will face in your life. In the long run, it’s your education and prior job performance that matter the most but at the tactical level, understanding the job application process also makes a difference. - that moment when you come face to face with a prospective employer and just when you need all the confidence you can muster it seems to completely disappear. Getting through interviews and making them work effectively for you is something that everyone can do - it just takes careful planning Interview Often, the toughest part of getting any job is likely to be the interview Before the interview you need to thoroughly research the position that you are applying for. In addition to the obvious details about your job, try to get a bigger picture about what makes the company tick. Most good companies have a distinctive ethos and a sense of direction which distinguishes them from their competitors. You can get an idea about this from reading their web site, mission statement or the speeches of senior executives. Try to think of the skills and qualifications that you bring which fit in with that corporate culture. Every interview is a learning experience and each one teaches you a little bit more about what to say and do and what to avoid. If you are unsuccessful then don't be too dismayed - there is always next time and the better your interview technique the more likely it is that you will succeed.

Job To Career Many of us can relate to the dream of the picture perfect life in which you have the perfect house, with the perfect family, and you come home from that perfect job or career. Both jobs and careers have similarities as well as differences. They are both a means of income, both require some sort of education or training, and have an interests or lack of interest. By definition a job is something that has to be done on a regular basis for some kind of compensation. A career is an occupation or profession, usually one you receive training in. In my view a job is something that you do because you have to do it whether it is enjoyable or not. A career is something that you choose, enjoy and have an interest in doing, and you have the benefit of getting paid for it. Let’s start when we were children we all had those jobs that we just did not like: poop patrol, dishes, cleaning the toilets, or even picking tumbleweeds out of Mom’s flower beds. Then, as we grew and matured, we tended to gravitate and perfect those things that we had some kind of interest in, whether it is helping to do the cooking, planning the meals, babysitting or helping Dad by changing the oil in the family cars. These jobs taught us about the things that we would gravitate to in life to pursue that career that would make us happy. Jobs are normally simple and relatively easy to master. Most teens get jobs at restaurants, retails stores, or performing a labor. While working at theses jobs they might be going to school, where they are getting an education towards a career that they are interested in for the rest of their lives. Depending on the degree they are learning, they will use that in their career. Careers are complex and generally involve a degree to prepare the person for the job. There are jobs that you are not financially compensated for such as being a parent. There are the responsibilities such as getting up in the middle of the night because of a sick child or even driving in many different directions to different activities. Also with careers there are thing that you are not compensated for such as extra effort in perfecting your area of expertise. Jobs are also things that you take out of necessity in times of need, such as your spouse or even a parent being sick or disabled for a while. You may need to take a part-time job to make ends meet, or pay extra bills. You may take a part-time job to work your way through school while you earn that degree toward that career. A career is generally a planned idea that you have and interest in. While pursuing a career sometime you can find a job to help with gaining you experience in your career field. Say I want a job where I want to manage and supervise people in a business setting. One of these jobs might be a Barista at Starbucks: you first learn about all different types and flavors of coffee. While making different types of coffee and interacting with the customers, you learn valuable people skills, and how different types of communicating are important. After time and experience you can slowly work your way into a management position. This can all be done as a part-time job while training and continuing your education. Jobs and careers can generally be related in many ways. Both take in some way or another take some kind of sacrifice. Through all of the sacrifices and time you can end up in a career that you enjoy. Sometimes we fall to the perils of life and unpredictable circumstances and end in a job rather that a career. It should be our mission to find our passion and dreams in life and take a chance to find a career
