IUID Data Constraints
Must be encoded into an ECC200 Data Matrix 2-D barcode
Must include ISO 15434 syntax
Must include appropriate semantics
Concatenated Unique Item Identifier (UII) no more than 50
characters
Characters A through Z and 0 through 9. Also / and –
No lower case letters, periods, asterisks, spaces (except when
using TEI format), or other special characters.
UII must be globally unique
The UII, once assigned is permanent.
