Acupuncture does not hurt. depends on the technique. Acupuncture uses techniques that I apply in Japan, which are designed not to cause any pain. In addition, the Japanese have needles only 0.16 mm thick, much thinner than the Chinese. The Chinese techniques can cause a little more sensitivity - something like a mosquito bite. There is, however, acupuncture without needles. Using magnets and moxibustion, andthe same theories and points, you can achieve a very good result. Moxibustion is a heatstimulus at the point of acupuncture. Without using needles, the treatment may need a few more sessions. About 2,000 acupuncture points are distributed among the body's meridians. The ideabehind acupuncture is that stimulating these points with needles or pressure relievingblockages of energy flow, allowing healing of the body. However, according to the Western point of view, it is believed that acupunctureprobably works by stimulating the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) to bereleased chemicals called, neurotransmitters and hormones. Such compounds relieve pain, boost the immune system and regulate various body functions. In the case of acupuncture and endorphins are the hormones that help relieve pain. Acupuncture or acupuncture (from the Latin acus - Needle puncture and point A) is a branch of traditional Chinese medicine and considered a complementary treatment method in accordance with the new terminology of the WHO - World Health Organization.

Acupuncture involves the application of needles in defined points of the body, called "acupuncture points" or "acupoints" for therapeutic effect in various conditions. Assigned the name "Acupuncture" to a European Jesuit who returned from China in the seventeenth century, adapted the Chinese terms "Zhen" and "Jiu", combining the Latin words "YTD" (needle) and "Punctum" (prick or puncture), as seen. The literal translation of the Chinese term, however, is quite different. The right way Zhen (needle) and Jiu moxa or "long-time application of fire." The translation gives the impression that the therapist only works with needles. Points and meridians can also be stimulated by other techniques. In fact, the points can be stimulated by acupuncture needles, fingers (acupressure) featuring different variants of the technique of Chinese massage (tui na, shiatsu (Japanese), do-in), stipes (of English and permanency Stimulation - Stimulation Permanent ) windy (although an application in several simultaneous points) or by heating or promoted by moxa, long application of fire "- a stick of burning mugwort, which is close to the skin to warm the acupuncture point. There is also the method of laser stimulation, also in studies.

The traditional Chinese medicine is deeply linked to theories based on Taoism, the duality of Yin / Yang, meridians and on other concepts rather "exotic" to western medical science. However, contributions of anthropology, specifically medical anthropology, has facilitated the understanding of these concepts in light of the logical interpretation of the mythical-religious explanations understood as ethnomedical systems capable of responding to demands for care of a given population. The Yin and Yang are opposite aspects of every movement in the universe. It is now considered a quantum concept that ancient Chinese doctors have managed to adapt to medicina. No man's body there is a balance that can be changed by a variety of influences such as dietary, behavioral, and many others.

There are many forms of diagnosis in traditional Chinese medicine. Some of them are the pulse, observation and aspects of language, skin color and features. A Chinese doctor say you should not just look at the patient, but to hear it, touch it, smell it, taste your urine and know their feces. A query based on the traditional Chinese model may take several minutes to several hours. The therapist questioned various aspects of life including childhood, the expression of emotions, diet, habits and customs. The nature of the explanations of traditional Chinese medicine does not make it essentially different from other ethnic systems - doctors, but except for its remarkable resemblance to the Hippocratic medicine - to whom he attributes the origin of modern cosmopolitan medicine. The study of history reveals his break with some traditions "magical" and incorporation of empirical knowledge derived from careful observation, consolidated in what is called the paradigm of Yin - Yang and the five classical movements described in the books or documents to the eastern ethnological for gross structural anthropology. Among the classic books the best known is undoubtedly the "Book of the Yellow Emperor" whose earliest specimen was found in a tomb of the Han dynasty (Fu Weikang).
