This procedure specifies the requirements for the Alignment/Leveling of the following Air heater
coolers:

of the requirements of this procedure.

LIFTING & LIFTING GEARS
Refer to lifting plan by FW.

4.0

INSTALLATION METHOD
4.1 Mark out locations where air fin cooler is to be installed and conduct necessary site
measurements to note if there is any deviations from equipment drawing.
4.2 Check the bolt hole dimension, quantity and level of the substructure support plate at pipe rack.
Ensure that the substructure top surface is true leveled and flat.
4.3 If not level, insert shim plates provided under fin cooler baseplate to achieve true seating plan as
stated in drawings.

4.4 Remove the temporary shipping support legs while using temporary supports to prevent it from
falling.
4.5 Lift the fin cooler to position as per stated in section 3.0 above.
4.6 Tighten the nuts of the machine bolts between the baseplate and the substructure support plate.
Later, it will be tightened it to torque values specified in the project specifications.
4.7 Check alignment of the driving and driven sheaves and check the blade pitch angle together
with FW’s manufacturer’s supervision as described in section 5.0 below.
4.8 Install louver if required by manufacturer.
4.9 Bring the motor towards the fan shaft and install the motor support to the slotted holes at the
machinery mount
4.10 Install the belt. Place the belts and tension them with the supervision of FW’s manufacturer to
the specified value.
4.11 Turn fan propellers by hand to ensure that they operate freely without obstacle. Switch the
motor for an instant check that the direction of rotation and blade positions are compatible with
the supervision of FW’s manufacturer.
4.12 Finally install the belt guards.
5.0

ALIGNMENT
5.1 Set and align fan assembly, ensuring blade angles are correct, align fan shafts, sheaves and
driver.
5.2 Other information refers to ITP.

6.0

SAFETY
Refer to the attached TRA for the erection & alignment work of Air Heater cooler.
