I was impressed with how you started a successful marketing and

CHASE BANK

Working with you and the EEM family was probably the best work experience of my life. I was amazed at the brilliant
product and marketing ideas that you were constantly generating and loved brainstorming with you and the management
team to evaluate and/or implement them.
I was impressed with how you started a successful marketing and technology company at a very young age from nothing
but an idea. By the time I joined your team, you had already built up a full marketing and technical support team and had
outgrown your office location. You managed your people in a way designed to developed a strong, supportive team
and it showed in the quality of your work.

I enjoyed working with Jase Clamp at PluraPage, Inc. We
relied on Jase heavily for a broad spectrum of services
related to the creation and maintenance of our online
marketing application. He was an asset to our sales team
on calls or at trade shows, he conducted training for some
of our largest clients, he oversaw our phone and email
support desk, as well as managed the development team
- converting our ideas for our product into reality. We could
always depend on Jase to have a quick response to any
question and he always possessed a firm grasp on our goals
and business model. I'd highly recommend Jase Clamp to
any company wishing to employ a sharp, passionate and
committed member of their team. Our only disappointment
with Jase was that we were not able to hire him in-house.

I have known Jase Clamp since 2001 in differing capacities
as a work colleague and partner in several projects from
web design to music video clips and television commercial.
It is a pleasure to recommend him as a highly conscientious,
talented team player. Visiting his company in 2006 in the
USA it was inspiring to see him managing a large and
experienced team at such a relatively young age. It did
not surprise me as he is such a capable individual.
I would recommend Jase Clamp to any company who is
looking for a forward thinking, hardworking individual with
exceptional people skills.

I have had the pleasure of working with Jase Clamp on
multiple projects he has implemented for JMU. Jase is a
courteous and professional partner in endeavors we have
shared between JMU and WinWorld. He has a willingness
to address issues that arise and has even visited our team
in our office to troubleshoot and assist. His demeanour is
positive and calm even when challenges . The design and
code Jase produces are exemplary. His work is of high
quality. He puts time and intention into his work as opposed
to using a one-size-fits-all for his customers.Jase is also helpful
in that he returns calls and e-mails for any inquiries.

Having worked with Jase for two years from Human Life

creative expert at Joomla, and brought us through many
challenges. Just as importantly, he does so with a calm and
professional demeanor that makes him a pleasure to work
with. For all our demeanour inquiries, even ones late at
night or on the weekends, Jase was always extremely
responsive. We appreciated that he made us feel as though
we were his first priority. If you need a partner in marketing
technology who can handle any challenge, Jase is your

Case Studies
PluraPage was positively reviewed by Forrester
Research and also received full approval in
security reviews by Symantec.

PluraPage was a digital marketing web-service that was
launched around time similar services like Marketo and
Eloqua were getting started. It provided PURLs
(personalized URLs), customized landing pages and
microsites. PluraPge connected with CRM systems like
Salesforce.com in order to display customized collateral
on personalized landing page and also fed information
entered by prospects back into CRM systems. PluraPage's
edge over something like Web2Lead was the ease with
which marketers could drag and drop landing page forms
into place. It also allowed them to duplicate their
company's web template for use in landing page forms
with just a few clicks.
Working with PluraPage was a unique opportunity as I
served as the general manager for the whole project.
Primarily I was the product manager. I would receive
requirements from Plurapage Inc and convert those into
functional and technical specifications for the
development team. I was responsible for designing the
user interface for the project and ensuring usability

08

standards were retained. I managed a team of
programmers who were working on the product. We
would release updates via a code versioning system.
I was also responsible for setting up and overseeing the call
centre and email ticket system providing support for the
application. We would manage all support cases for
PluraPage and ensure the service level agreement was
maintained. I also visited trade shows, assisting the sales team.
In it's first year of live usage, one of the largest energy
companies in America, Direct Energy, signed up to use
PluraPage exclusively for all of it's PURL campaigns. I directly
provided the training to their large sales and marketing team
on how to best leverage the product in conjunction with their
CRM system, salesforce.com.
My interaction with PluraPage ended when they received
an initial $0.5m of multiple rounds of funding. At that time
it was deemed best to move all production and support
in-house. The product is now called “OnDialog”. It was
rewarding to oversee this web marketing tool from
conception through to maturity.

The Association
of American
Educators
The Association of American Educators (AAE) is a
nation-wide association of teaching professionals. AAE's
primary function is to provide group liability insurance to
it's members which is bundled with the membership fee.
AAE's main goal with their project was to upgrade their
static online presence to a dynamic presence
incorporating elements of social media.
I worked with AAE and our design team to assemble a new
fresh layout and style guide for their content. They had
many pages of information for their members so I worked
with them on their information architecture, ensuring users
could navigate the website in a user friendly way. A full
fledged blog was incorporated into the site. We trained
them on the usage of social networking and incorporated
feeds and bookmarking tools thereof into the website.
We also extended the upgrade of their website into their
backend membership database. They were using
Microsoft

Access and Mail Merge to manage their member
communications from month to month. I managed a
migration team to move them to a platform called
SugarCRM. This would enable their staff workers to have
unilateral visibility into the member database and also
integrate with email systems, saving on the paper mailings.
Whereas before, their member renewal process was
involved offline paper forms and payments, we updated
it into a self service system that could all be managed by
the members themselves via the new website. By
outsourcing certain portions of the development process,
I was able to accomplish this upgrade for AAE for less than
$100,000.

Perry Stone
Perry Stone is a best selling author and also has a weekly
TV show that is broadcast on 100s of TV and Cable TV
networks throughout the world. He maintains an active
online presence with an eCommerce store. On average
the unique visitors to the site exceeds 10,000 per day. I
oversaw a migration of their site architecture from a
Microsoft to a Linux-based open source content
management system called Joomla. We worked with
analytical tools to reoptimize the site structure into a more
user friendly format. VOE streams numerous terabytes of

video media per month and Edgecast CDN was used to
enhance deliver y of media content. The entire
eCommerce system was also migrated from a Microsoft
system to a Linux-based system called Magento. Yearly
eCommerce revenues exceed 4m per year. I directed a
solution that would connect their online orders to their
back-office database used in their fulfillment facility. After
taking over management of their Facebook presence I
saw their followers grow from a few thousand to over
100,000.

Ahead of

the Game
MapLinkOnline.com
Maplink was a brand that I launched in
2004. At that time multiple listing systems
(MLS) for real estate were bifurcated
between different realty companies.

At the time, the trends were indicating that more and more
people were going online to search for houses. When a
realtor placed a search tool on their website, it would
usually only contain listings from their listing company and
region. Maplink served two purposes. Firstly it would import
and aggregate MLS listings from an unlimited number of

10

MLS sources. Secondly Maplink would display search results
on a map with a much easier to use interface than form
based search.
We promoted Maplink aggressively with an award
winning tradeshow booth (shown left) and energetic
video. It was a confirmation that this technology was
headed in the right direction when two or three years
later I saw similar service offerings such as Zillow.com and
this same technology integrated into leading national
realty brands. Maplink was tabled in favour of better
opportunities, however the project generated a lot of
interest while it was in beta and was a great learning
experience.

Recent Work

Neighborhood Friends
In 2008 we teamed up with a group of technicians and
investors to produce a geographically aware social
networking system. The premise was that networks such as
Facebook, while impressive, were not factoring geography
into their networking logic. So for example, some posts
would not be relevant to friends in other states, however
Facebook did not facilitate such differentiating logic. Also
sometimes you may want to make public queries that were
highly geographicly relevant such as “I'm looking for a
jogging partner on weekday mornings,” or “Does anyone
have a Monopoly set I can borrow for the evening?”
Neighborhood friends was fully designed and launched to
fill such a niche. It also contained automated logic to help
understand and allocate contacts into more relevant
groups. For example, it would try to detect and differentiate
between business and personal contacts. The system was
designed to understand that you have different levels of
friends and acquaintances.
Shortly following the initial launch of the webservice, shifts
took place in the economy causing the investment to fall
through. However the fact that this type of system was on
track was verified by the arrival of services such as
foursquare.com. Foursquare is a location-aware social
network that was launched around the same time as
Neighborhood friends and has risen to great popularity
and awareness.
In essence this system was aimed at all promotional aspects
of location awareness. Large players continue to pursue
this agenda, for example Apple with iBeacon technology.

Virgin Australia
During this contract I was responsible for making decisions
for over $55 million in transactions per week across both
web and API channels. My responsibilities included drafting
specs for usability and functional enhancements to the
web booking engine for the development team to
undertake. Reviewing test scripts and results from the testing
team. Providing directives for the airline systems team to
make configuration changes in Navitaire and Amadeus
booking platforms. I provided direct support to third parties
such as Flight Centre using the airline's API as well as
assistance to inside sales. I once worked with developers
to achieve a technically challenging SEO optimisation to
the booking engine that resulted in an extra $2 million in
sales during my last few months with the company. During
my time at Virgin I stood in for over 6 eCommerce specialists
who had been seconded to work on setting up the new
Sabre booking platform. It was a busy and challenging
role, working in, what was to me, a new industry however
I feel that by broad technical background helped me get
up to speed quickly and manage the work until handing
back to the original team.

Recent Work

Madison Technologies
For the last two years I've been spinning up eCommerce
from scratch for Madison Technologies. Madison is a B2B
distributor of commercial connectivity hardware including
copper cable, fibreoptic, industrial routers, carrier grade
wireless solutions and broadcast AV gear. When I came
on board with Madison they had a static Dreamweaver
site running on a shared host in the USA. I oversaw the
project to upgrade them to a hybrid Magento
eCommerce and Expressione Engine CMS that runs on a
redundant multi-server AWS stack in Sydney. One KPI as
eCommerce Manager was to make their product
catalogue available online. Traditionally as a sales driven
organisation product data would be entered into ERP as
opportunities arose. When I asked them where their full
set of product data was, they told me it was in a pile of
paper catalogues. They did not know how many products
they had distribution rights for. I formulated a custom
product data pipeline including web scraping, advanced

12

ETL and custom APIs to dynamically cleanse and load what
turned out to be about a quarter million products. Another
key aspect was speed and usability of the website. To
deliver this we implemented various technologies such as
CDN, front-end Varnish Cache servers, NGINX page speed,
SOLR indexers for rapid search results and server-side Redis
cache all running on a distributed AWS environment that
is capable of auto-scaling to meet demand. I overhauled
site structure and implemented a mobile responsive theme
with a strong focus on custom UX, usability and information
architecture. I worked with the creative team to deliver
portals and microsites that can filter content and products
based on segmentation criteria as well as developed
digital marketing tools to assist EDM campaigns. I raised
the implementation of devops methodologies in-house,
leveraging GIT to speed up deployments and also spec'd
and outsourced tight integrations with ERP and CRM
systems.

ContactGorilla was my favourite personal project. It was a webservice that would connect
to your Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, iPhone or Android address book. You could then select
contacts and ContactGorilla would email them asking if the specified contact information
was still up to date. It took a manual and laborious task and made it totally automated. I
enjoyed working on the branding for this project and also the breadth of mobile and browser
platforms that were supported. This service differentiated from services such as Plaxo,
FullContact, and Gist in that they would only connect to social networks to try update contact
info whereas this would ask for updates directly. Unfortunately I was not able to devote
enough time to the project after moving to Australia and shut it down.
