Pipe Recovery Services Cased Hole
Jet Cutters
Weatherford’s jet cutters use circular-shaped charges to
instantaneously sever most downhole tubulars, including production
tubing, casing, and drillpipe. The cutters are used in heavy muds,
inhibited completion fuids, and often in high-hydrostatic conditions.
The charges are designed to sever only the tubular string they are
within, leaving the casing or other external piping intact.
Jet cutters often fare the severed pipe string resulting in the necessity
to mill or smooth the pipe end for fshing and other pipe operations.

Applications
• The jet cutter’s compact design shortens tool string lengths and
limits lubricator needed for rig up.
• Combining the jet cutter with a radio frequency indifferent
detonator saves valuable rig time and maintains critical
communications.
• A wide range of conveyance methods provide operators with
fexibility for even remote locations.
• The debris caused by the cut breaks up into small segments.
• Indifference to fuid type means a worry-free operation even in
exotic completion fuids.
• High-pressure ratings mean successful cutting in deep-well and
deepwater operations even when other cutting methods cannot
be used.
• Using jet cutters is typically the least expensive cutting method.
• Quick assembly saves valuable rig time.
• They have a built-in centralizer, providing greater effciency.
• No hazardous fumes are emitted, providing safe environmental
operations and personnel safety.
