COMMUNITY PRIMARY & NURSERY SCHOOL
Fun in the Snow
Our children have had great fun in the snow over the last few days. They have been building snowmen and sledging in the Pre-school (2 year olds) and in the Nursery (3-4 year olds). Children in the foundation stage have been freezing coloured ice to see what happens when it melts. Children in Years 1- 6 have enjoyed being creative with the snow: they have been building a variety of structures out of snow including - snow sofas, snow castles and igloos. Children in Year 4 have been investigating how they can prevent the snow from melting by using a variety of materials to insulate it. Throughout the school, the children have used this fantastic opportunity to be creative in their writing and art work, inspired by the snowy landscape. Recent events: Class 2 have started their swimming lessons and are having great fun mastering these skills at Moss Farm in Northwich. Classes 5&6 visited Theatre Clwyd to enjoy the rock and roll panto, ‘Dick Whittington’. The rest of the school, Nursery and Pre-school enjoyed a performance of Dick Whittington in school. Nursery & Pre-school children have been learning about life at sea with Mrs Dolan, a member of staff.
‘This is a good school. Outstanding care, guidance and support from teachers and teaching assistants ensure that pupils are happy in school and enjoy the many and varied activities open to them.’
