Shooting in Mexico kills 18
A dreadful shooting between two conflicting gangs, ends the lives of 18 people in Northeastern Mexico. On the morning of March 7th, 2011, the town of Abasolo in the state of Tamaulipas was terrorized by a turf war between the two major Mexican drug gangs- the Zetas and Gulf cartels. Last month, there had already been a slaughter in a nearby town called Padilla in which 18 people were killed mostly innocent bystanders. It has been difficult communicating events to other cities in Tamaulipas as the information takes hours or sometimes days

community, but no further details about the turf wars have been released. There have been public warnings about the gang wars sent to the civilians of Tamaulipas but for the most part media has tried to avoid the whole situation
