DROUGHT S ITUA ITUATIONTION- AN OVERVIEW 

Several districts in Maharashtra are facing sever drought condition , believed to be more sever than the 1972 drought.



There is acute shortage of even drinking water in districts of Solapur , Ah mednagar, Satara, Sangli , parts of Pune and Nashik.



In Maharashtra current ly 1454 towns and 4100 villages are supplied with 1850 tankers of water , as compared to (11 t h Feb 2012) 181 towns and 976 97 6 villages with 190 tankers.

DROUGHT S ITUA ITUATIONTION- AN OVERVIEW 

Due to acute water short age maintaining cattle has become a daunting issue for the locals.



Animal camps are setup for this purpose. A member of family ha s to stay at this camp along with his cattle.



Gents in the anim al camp and ladies engaged to manage for water along a long with the daily chores , the school going children are left on their own.



Managing meal/tiffin for the children has also become an issue.



Along with tackling current drought issue , s teps also have to be taken to avoid such situations in future.

CURRENT VIEW OF DROUGHT

RECENT STARTED ST ARTED REL IEF WORK 

1. Sang li: Continuous fodder distribution at many places.



2. Sangli: Cattle feed camps in many places



3. Ahmadnagar: Water storage tank installed at 11 places.



4. Ahmadnagar: Wat Water er tanker supply in many villages & talukas.



5. Satara: Continuous fodder d istribution at many places.



6. Satara: Cattle feed camps in many places



7. Jalna: Wat Water er storage tanks installed at 5 plac es.

RECENT STARTED ST ARTED REL IEF WORK 

8. Jalna: Cattle feed camps at 3 places for 200 cattle.



9. Aurangabad: Water storage tanks installed at 2 places.



10. Beed: Water storage tanks installed at 10 places.



11. Chlorine distribution in many villages for filter tanker's water to to make it drinkable.



12. Free lunch to students appearing for exams.



13. Work started in 36 places and very soon will reach to 125 places.



14. Navneet Jalkumbh Yojna: Big water tanks installed in 2 places. Cost per setup 16 lakh r s.
