Margaret Dunn to step down as CEO of Wright State Physicians Margaret M. Dunn, M.D., M.B.A., FACS, has announced she is stepping down Physicians, the the physician’s practice plan as president and CEO of Wright State Physicians, for the Boonshoft School of Medicine. Dunn was appointed president and CEO in April 2007. During her tenure, she was instrumental in the creation of the new medical office building on the Wright State Campus. The new 66,000-square-foot, three-story building consolidated five medical practices under one roof, giving patients an improved one-stop medical care experience while reducing overhead costs for Wright State Physicians. The new facility also benefits WSU faculty, staff and students, giving them access to expert multispecialty care conveniently located on campus. The new $15 million facility has helped further WSP’s mission to retain outstanding medical faculty and staff in support of the clinical, research and community service activities of the university’s medical school. “Dr. Dunn has transformed Wright State Physicians from an academic practice plan that managed the patient billing for the medical school faculty to one of the largest physician-run multispecialty practices in the Dayton region,” said Dean Marjorie Bowman. “We thank her for her exemplary service. She has worked tirelessly to advance both the Boonshoft School of Medicine and Wright State Physicians.” Dr. Dunn will continue in her role as professor of surgery at Wright State University. She joined the faculty of the medical school in 1982. A native of Freeport, New York, Dunn holds an M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She completed her surgery residency and served as chief surgical resident at Einstein-Montefiore Ei nstein-Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. She completed an M.B.A. at Wright State University and is a member of the honorary medical society Alpha Omega Alpha. A national search will be conducted to fill the CEO position.
