Culture Eats Strategy for Lunch: How to Create an Analytics Driven Culture
Organisations are facing a wider and wider gap between newly available technologies and their organisation’s ability to apply and use this technology for advantage. This keynote will explore the role culture plays in the implementation and adoption of new technologies such as In-Memory computing, application of big data, predictive analytics and mobile BI. However, all the new technology in the world does not help if it is not adopted. We will further explore the strategies and cultural shifts successful organisations have applied to ensure adoption and used to create a culture where analytics is core to every decision. • How to spur cultural change using analytics • Which new and existing technologies to apply to new analytical demands • How to drive adoption and ensure a solid ROI on investments • Where to start and how to build a successful analytics strategy • Practical examples of successful companies

Managing the SAP Marathon Using Working Styles Knowledge to Build and Maintain a Winning Project
A SAP project is not a sprint, it’s a marathon! The very nature of SAP projects requires a team that works well together. Understanding the dynamics of individuals and teams will not only improve productivity, but ultimately ensure a greater project success. Your effectiveness in the team begins with an awareness of your personal working and communication styles and how they can impact your team. Next is to better understand how the styles of those around you can impact you and others. In the end, it’s a matter of learning how to harness the collective energy of these diverse styles to become a truly high-performing team. This fun and interactive keynote will present you with practical ways to apply working style concepts to your professional and personal relationships. Learn how using a practical model and simple language for understanding workplace dynamics can help you reach the SAP finish line as a strong, united, energised and winning team!

The User Engagement Paradox
Business Analytics systems have the potential to make fundamental and positive changes to the way organisations work. Our end-users know this and there has probably never been a time when user demand for access to the data they need to make decisions has been greater. Users want effective and easy to use Business Analytics systems. The problem is when we build those systems, we have a hard time getting people to use them! This keynote will explore the paradox of contemporary BI: that two of the major challenges facing BI developers are meeting end-user demand for systems, while at the same time fighting to get end-users to use the systems and data that are provided for them. • Active requirements gathering and its role in building user engagement • How to focus on user needs and not user wants • The value of a scientist/practitioner approach to performing business needs analysis • How to harness the hype around “big data” and not lose your soul • Using the “visualization” debate to your advantage • Building your BI “brand”

Three Keys to Unlock Your Executive BI Chequebook… Before it’s all Gone!
With so many priorities and a tight economy, executives are now more than ever focused on investing in areas that will show true value to their business. Hence the key to opening the executive chequebook is simply by focusing on adding value, and then finding key ways to highlight it in your organisation. Join Mico, as she teaches you proven techniques to engage an executive audience in your BI project and more importantly, maintaining their buy-in. • Show me the money - learn why executive buy-in is important… and why your team can’t live without it • Business users are key - learn one key thing that your BI app must accomplish… to help the business gain true value • Do a ‘social’ BI launch - learn why doing a social launch will keep your BI project visible on the top floor

Reflections and Predictions: What the Hell am I Doing Here?
After a rebranding, 44 presentations and 35 speakers from across a range of industries and regions it’s time to kick back and reflect. Join two experienced practitioners in an interactive discussion on: • What are some of the challenges facing us in the Business Analytics domain? • Some of the key takeaways from the conference • Where to next? Bring your questions and opinions on where you are taking your organisation. More importantly take some time to reflect before heading back into your daily routine. Facilitated by: Peter O’Donnell - Lecturer, Decision Support Systems Laboratory, Monash University

TRACK C
Obtaining and Maintaining Business Engagement When You Return to the Office
Craig Nicholls - Manager SAP Services Section, Department of Families, Housing, Community Services & Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) Attending a Mastering SAP conference is an awesome experience you leave the event on a high, feeling energised and ready to assist your organisation to solve all their issues. The days, weeks and months after the event can be a bit of a letdown as you get caught up in the internal politics of your organisation and the limitations that exist with business engagement. At FaHCSIA attempts to engage with senior managers were unsuccessful until 2010 when the SAP BW team finally broke the glass ceiling and delivered an executive dashboard. Overnight they found themselves assisting senior executives to drive organisational change, but fast forward 18 months and the dashboard was becoming stale. Discover how they reinvented themselves to again be sitting at the boardroom table partnering with business to add value. • Breaking the culture of “if you build it they will come” • Stop focusing on just emerging technologies, focus back on what business thinks is important • Engaging with key stakeholders - discussing requirements, data integrity, business value and return on investment • Develop a strategy and roadmap for the future Current SAP Release: BI 4 SP5 & BW 7.01

TRACK D
What Can I Do Now to Prepare for the World of Real Time BI Powered by SAP HANA?
Dimitri Zarganakis & David Simpson - National Practice Managers, NTT DATA Business Solutions This presentation will focus on how BW on HANA and Business Suite on HANA affects your overall BI design and strategy. It’s relevant for customers about to start HANA projects, considering a refresh of your BI strategy or those who might start projects in the next two years. See how you can ensure that your current roadmap and design approach is ready for the new world of In-Memory based Enterprise Information Management. • What reporting and analytics should be built directly on top of Business Suite? • How to design a hybrid BW/Business Suite solution that is seamless to the user yet brings together the benefits of real-time operational reporting and enterprise data warehousing • Insight into what your implementation options are from “big bang” to smaller incremental deliveries • How to design future solutions and where you can gain tangible business benefits • The change to thinking that is required once you remove the current technical constraints Hot Topics Covered: 3

Tapping into the mobile revolution offers a great opportunity for Business Intelligence initiatives as getting information and insight in the hands of management and decision makers is a key value driver. But exactly how do you do it? Emerging platforms and technologies make it difficult to establish firm strategies. The good news is that you most likely can get started with what you have already got. SAP has created strategic partnerships with Sencha and Appcelerator to offer broader opportunities. Join Jorgen as he explains the components that make up a mobile solution and options for delivering mobile experiences on SAP BW from simple no frill models to comprehensive mobile strategies. • The generic components of a mobile solution • Application frameworks: native, cross-platform native, hybrid and HTML5 • Exposing SAP data • Device management • Application gateways and security Hot Topic Covered: 6

Making the Best Choice Out of the SAP BO Front-End Zoo
Jörg Steinhorst - Head of Enterprise Architecture, German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) (Germany) The slow integration of BusinessObjects tools since the acquisition of BusinessObjects by SAP caused the German Armed Forces to feel insecure about their development strategy. This was further reinforced by the SAP roadmap being changed repeatedly. Increasing business demands for reporting and analysis capabilities additionally escalated the pressure to find a new solution. The demand was high to implement only a selection of tools to cover the requirements of the company, focusing rather on a long-term front-end strategy. The dilemma: a solution now - but with tools “supported” in the future. • What are the new tools and what are their capabilities? • What does this mean for the current front-end tools? • Building a powerful, long term front-end strategy with the new analysis tools • Reduce the complexity, maintenance and application support costs • Different requirements and priorities to be considered for your environment Current SAP Release: BW 7.3 & ECC 6.06 Hot Topics Covered: 2
