# Councillor Burke motioned for suspension of the rules to take papers 07-367 and 07-368 out of orderpassed # 07-367-Offered by Councillor Burke, Be it resolved, that the Mayor appropriate monies out of free cash to supplement the police budget in order to add additional RAD classes in the near future as needed. # Upon motion by Councillor Burke-passed # # # # # # # # # 07-368-Offered by Councillor Burke, Whereas, a community police meeting was held on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, Whereas, residents voiced concerns about the lighting issues in the neighborhood, Be it resolved, that the Electric Department, in conjunction with the police/fire departments, consider performing an inspection, by area, on all lights in the area and have Mass Electric (Keyspan) replace all bulbs as soon as possible in the interest of public safety.# Also, that the Mayor consider establishing a form on the city’s website for neighbors to report “lights out” # Upon motion by Councillor Burke-passed # Councillor Burke motioned to revert back to regular order of business-passed # # HEARINGS # 07-330 # LOCATION OF POLES, ATTACHMENT OF FIXTURES AND UNDERGROUND CONDUITS # MEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS # CITY CLERK’S OFFICE # You are hereby notified that by order of the Medford City Council, a Public Hearing will be given at the Howard F. Alden Memorial Auditorium, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, City Hall, Medford, Massachusetts at 7:00 P.M., on TUESDAY, May 8, 2007 on a petition by National Grid (Mass Electric) for permission to construct a line of underground electric conduits, including the necessary sustaining and protecting fixtures, under and across the public or ways hereinafter named. Wherefore it prays that after due notice and hearing as provided by law, it may be granted permission

to excavate the public highways and to run and maintain underground electric conduits, together with such sustaining and protecting fixtures as it may find necessary for the transmission of electricity. Said underground conduits to be located substantially in accordance with the plan filed herewith marked National Grid WR#1806593 Dated1/16/07. Upon motion by Councillor Burke to Table-Tabled # Councillor Burke motioned to revert back to regular order of business-passed # PETITIONS, PRESENTATIONS AND SIMILIAR MATTERS # 07-369-Petition by Sentry Motors Inc., 4080 Mystic Valley Parkway for a reversal of sign denial on OCD Application 2007-15 “Primary Sign Exceeds Allowable Use # Addressing the Council-Anthony Capone, Treasurer Sentry Motors Inc # Amended by Councillor Burke, that the petitioner take down the other free standing sign as part of the approval to reverse the sign denial # Upon motion by Councillor Dello Russo as amended-Granted, Councillor Camuso Opposed due to many signs at the location # Councillor Burke motioned for suspension of the rules to address papers in the possession of the City Clerk-passed # 07-371-Offered by Councillor Burke Be It Resolved that the City Solicitor provide an update on the status of his reviews of TV-3 Medford # Upon motion by Councillor Burke-passed # 07-370-Offered by Councillor Burke Be It Resolved that the School Department have the debris removed from the practice field adjacent to the storage shed… Further that additional barrels be placed around the soccer fields in order to keep facility clean. # Amended by President Maiocco that the paper be also forwarded to Commissioner of Public Works for his support. # Amended by Councillor Marks that more barrels be placed at the Business Districts and the Parks. # Amended by Councillor Camuso that DPW arranged to have barrels emptied on one day and followed up the next day with street cleaning # Upon motion by Councillor Burke as amended-passed # # 07-372-Offered by Councillor Marks Be It Resolved that the Building Commissioner Paul Mochi report back to the City Council on the change of design at the proposed new Dunkin Donuts site on Mystic Ave. # Amended by Councillor Camuso that the City Solicitor immediately provide his legal opinion on the conditions set forth by the City Council # Upon motion by Councillor Marks as amended-passed
