May 8th 2009 To whom it may concern, On Thursday March 26th 2009, Tru Kings Entertainment presented their Music With Meaning tour, here at Mountainview (north) School. We had approximately 75 students in attendance and they were all captivated by the words of encouragement and the positive influence that Tru Kings entertainment provided. The presentation was approximately an hour long, which was followed by 45 minutes of our students sharing their talents. At the end of the presentation, our students presented an award to Tru Kings for their Outstanding Contribution to our student Population. With the misconceptions and the poor representation that the media portrays of hip hop and music, it is wonderful to have young people that are demonstrating the importance and positive aspects of music. In their music presentation our students were encouraged to follow their dreams, to be creative and to strive to overcome their fears; a message that our students of today need to hear. Our students were definitely inspired and have been writing and working on their musical talents even more since the Music With Meaning tour. We are grateful to Tru kings for spreading their love and passion for music and their desire to see the youth of today use their talents in a positive way. Due to the positive response and influence that Tru Kings had on our students, we look forward to the Music with Meaning tour next year and we hope to work on other projects with them as well. We recommend The Music with Meaning tour to both elementary and high schools and even community organizations that deal with youth.
