Abstract The purpose of this lab was to configure and verify HSRP and GLBP. The equipment that was supposed to be used was three routers, two switches and two end devices. The method in doing so is to configure all the devices via the information given in the tables. First making sure to configure the PC hosts with all necessary addresses to keep everything organized, followed by configuring the router and switches with the appropriate basic settings. Once the basic configurations are implemented, we began to apply first hop redundancy using HSRP configurations and also apply first hop redundancy using GLBP. Introduction The lab will consist of connecting and configuring three routers, two switches and two end devices. Applying all necessary IP addresses, subnets masks, and loopback clock rate. Followed by setting clock rate to 128000 for all DCE serial interfaces and configuring OSPF except 209.165.200.224/27 into the OSPF process. Procedure First I configured the end devices followed by the routers and switches with the basic configuration followed by setting clock rates to all DCE serials and configuring OSPF except 209.165.200.224/27. Followed by verifying connectivity between PC-a and PC-c. Once the connection is verified we began to apply first hop redundancy by configuring HSPR on R1 and R3. Then we began to apply first hop redundancy by configuring GLBP on R1 and R3. The next step was to verify all the protocols were implemented properly by testing all the connections using various show commands, such as show glbp br and show standy br.
