2

Instructions

Start the message monitoring of the DOCTOR process with the service terminal command ZOQ:D9 and run the partial diagnosis wanted. Observe the field load_module_name, whose length is eight ascii characters, of the message 0x837. This field contains the name of the module to be loaded, without the extension. For example, the module DISA71GX is presented in the message in hexadecimals 44 49 53 41 37 31 47 58. All loadable modules of the diagnostic programs should begin with the string DIS, i.e. the field load_module_name can be located in the message by searching for the hexadecimals 44, 49 and 53. Give the service terminal command ZMX:W0-BLCODE/DIS* to check whether the name of the module found in the message, with the extension IMG, is located on the disk W0 of the exchange. Perform the same checking for disk W1. If the disks do not contain a message with the same name as in the message 0x837, fill in a Problem Report. The failure is then located either in the file LEQURI, whose number is 07F10000, or on disks W0 or W1. If the disks do contain a message with the same name as in the

3846 FAILURE IN MPC/DIC LOOP TEST

82

3846 FAILURE IN MPC/DIC LOOP TEST
Meaning

Loop test for the MPC/DIC diagnostics of the data service unit has failed. The fault can be in the physical connections of the faulty channels, or the modem (ECMFAST), fax adapter (FAXMO), or data interface unit (DIU) of the channels is faulty.

Supplementary information fields

1 2

index of faulty timeslot between 0-15 index of faulty timeslot between 16-31 The index of the timeslot in supplementary information bytes is bit coded, which means that LSB corresponds to channel 0 in supplementary information 1 byte and channel 16 in supplementary information 2 byte. MSB corresponds to channel 15 in supplementary information 1 byte and channel 31 in supplementary information 2 byte. If the bit is 0, the timeslot is in order. If the bit is 1, the channel is faulty For example: 0002 00F0 timeslot 1 is faulty timeslots 20-23 are faulty

In MPC and DIC units, timeslots 0 ja 16 are not in use, which means that the index of the timeslot does not correspond directly to the index of the modem, fax adapter or data interface unit In an MPC unit, to get the index of the plug-in unit from supplementary information 1 byte, subtract 1 from the value of the timeslot. To get the index of the plug-in unit from supplementary information 2 byte, subtract 2 from the value of the timeslot In a DIC unit, the index of the faulty DIU plug-in unit corresponds directly to the supplementary information

Diagnosis Reports (3700-3999)

bytes and values of faulty time slots. For example, when supplementary information 1 is 0040 and supplementary information 2 is 0F00, DIU-2 and DIU-7 are faulty

Instructions

Check the condition of the data bus regarding the faulty time slots, and that all the cables in the unit, from the field to the unit, from the unit to ET, and from ET to the field are properly connected. Plug-in units should be properly placed in their cartridges. Check the settings of the DM2 and VF10 plug-in units. If the test claims that all timeslots are faulty, replace the pool's COCA plug-in unit. Check also that the ET1E plug-in unit of the pool's ET is properly placed. You can check the index of ET with the MML command: ZUSI:ET; Next, run the test again. If the test still fails, replace the ET1E plug-in unit. Before the MPC/DIC loop test, run the other tests belonging to the MPC/DIC total diagnosis. It will help you find out whether the pool's COCA and DASA plug-in units are properly placed and whether the HW configuration is in order.
