The ability to provide culturally competent care in the health care field is becoming imperative in our society. This study is an outcomes assessment investigation of nursing students perceived selfefficacy to provide culturally competent nursing care to diverse patient populations after completing design using pretest-posttest survey data was employed. The measurement tool used was the Transcultural Self-efficacy tool developed by Dr. Marianne Jeffreys- Students self efficacy with regard to providing culturally competent nursing care was measured in the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains before and after the completion of an associate degree nursing program. Findings showed students scored higher in the affective and cognitive domains of cultural care issues after completing the program, however, the psychomotor domain scores did not change. Recommendations for improving the nursing curriculum are given along with suggestions for further research in the area of culturally competent care.
