ASYMCA Family Camp at Camp Surf
17 military families enjoyed a weekend of adventure at YMCA Camp Surf this September. Children challenged their parents to a race up the rock wall, explored the sea creatures of the beach, and families bonded together over s 'mores around the camp fire. One family wrote, “This wonderful experience gave my family the opportunity to re-connect and bond in a relaxing environment. We would not have been able to participate, had you not made this possible. You have helped us to create lasting memories and have brought huge smiles to my children’s faces, Thank you!”

Thank you FOCUS!
The San Diego Armed Services YMCA would like to extend a special thank you to FOCUS for their continued support of our military families and their children. Their recent donations include 100 baby blankets for the maternity wards at Naval Medical Center and they have delivered strollers, cribs, diapers, car seats, and books throughout the year. Thank you FOCUS for your wonderful support!

Stars & Stripes Donation Check Presentation
The opening ceremonies of the September 17th Padres game starred the Stars & Stripes Tournament as well as the San Diego Armed Services YMCA. During this game, the ASYMCA was awarded a donation check of $154,691 from the Stars & Stripes Tournament. 100% of this donation will go directly towards supporting local military families. Thank you Padres and Stars & Stripes!

Wounded, Injured and Ill Programs at Naval Medical Center
Wounded, injured, and ill service members at Naval Medical Center enjoyed many excursions this past September. Our wonderful sponsor, Barbara Abel, treated the wives, mothers, and caretakers of wounded warriors to another spa day at the Hotel Del. The ladies enjoyed a break from their busy lives with a massage, lunch, and the good company of others. The ASYMCA took another group of ten wounded service members to experience the exhilarating feeling of Sail Plane gliding over southern California’s high desert. Wounded service members also enjoyed fishing with the San Diego Anglers and had a great time at Military Appreciation Day at the Del Mar Racetrack.
