OBJECTIVE OF THE INDUCTION PROGRAM
• To embrace and assimilate the new employee in a way so that they are productive quickly ad feel like apart of the team • To make the employees feel welcome, give an overall positive impression and make them feel like a part of the organization • To ensure that the new hires are brand ambassadors and stay in the company for a long period of time

3 PHASES OF INDUCTION
• Induction to the Organization:
The 2 day induction program that happens during the month to familiarize the employee with the organization, the various business units, structure of the company, general HR policies. This induction can also act as aground for all the new recruits to know each other.

• Induction to the Function:
This can happen over a period of 1 week, where information pertaining to the function, his role, his team members/counterparts, the structure of the function and its fitment in the organization is shared

• Buddy Program:

4 STEP ON BOARDING PROGRAM
New Hire Orientation
On the first day, an overview of the company, culture, establishing and followed by a Q& A session. Giving him an Employee handbook This is also followed by the 2 day induction program to share info about the company The new hire is put on to a buddy and in the first week gets introduced to key people and access to system and information

Functional On Boarding

Business Orientation

During the first 3 months he receives product and process training as required. His goals are set. After the first 3 months HR and the Function manager need to take feedback on his understanding of the job role and also provide him with feedback

BUDDY PROGRAM
Who is a Budddy A Buddy is someone who partners with a new employee during his or her first one month of employment.

Buddy offers advice and guidance to help foster and promote the professional development of a new employee.
The buddy can be an effective source of advice and encouragement. The buddy can offer seasoned experienced in the form of training and socializing the new employee to the organization.

WHOM TO SELECT AS A BUDDY
• • • • • • Demonstrates high performance Has time and is accessible to the new employee Is skilled in the new employee's job Is proud of the organization Is a peer of the new employee Has patience and good communication and interpersonal skills • Wants to be a buddy • Is a positive role model (well regarded and accepted by current employees) • Has been selected in advance and trained in buddy responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A BUDDY
• Be an informational resource for the new employee on policies, procedures, work rules, norms, etc. • Help socialize the new employee

• Be a tour guide
• Identify resources that can provide additional help to the employee

• Provide introductions

WHAT THE BUDDY CAN DO
• • • • Meet or have lunch during the first week Check in with new hire once a week during the first month invite new hire to events Introduce the new hire to all the team members and also familiarize him with employees of other functions/departments he needs to interact with.

WHAT THE BUDDY SHOULD EXPECT FROM A TRAINEE
• Confidentiality: The buddy expects that the trainee can be trusted with information, whether it be technical, business, personal or otherwise.
• Learning: The buddy expects the trainee will display a cacheable attitude and an eagerness to learn.

WHAT THE TRAINEE EXPECTS FROM THEIR BUDDY
• Help in understanding the culture of an organization and finding out how to get things done • Assistance in building networks and insight into how to make them effective and productive • Establishment of the best form of communication: email, telephone, in-person • General advice & Guidance , clear information • Encouragement & Positive attitude from the buddy • Shared information is confidential • Honest feedback

EVALUATING THE PROGRAM
• At the end of a month, Feedback forms are to be given to the Buddy as well as the New Joinee. Formal review to be done • On Boarding Process to be reviewed and revised based on collective Feedback
