>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> NEED ANOTHER MAILBOX? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Need another mailbox or account on MCI Mail? A SCRIPT called NEWUSER allows you to register new mailboxes or accounts on MCI Mail, or provide a referral for others needing information. To use this feature, at the Command; prompt, type: CREATE USING NEWUSER Answer all questions, and follow the instructions at the end of the SCRIPT. You will be notified when the new mailbox/account is active. The NEWUSER script has been in use for over two years. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PRODUCT INFORMATION FORUM >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Businesses in the know sponsor lunchtime vendor forums. These meetings provide an opportunity for the area managers to become familiar with new services and products in a casual setting without taking time off to visit trade shows. Managers and employees get a chance to learn about cost saving technologies used in other areas of the company through informal discussions, and question and answer periods. If you would like to have an MCI Mail representative come to one of your forums, please message us at mailbox 218-0241. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MCI AND YOUR FAX MACHINE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MCI Mail Fax Dispatch offers superb text quality and exceptional ease for computer originated faxes. However, some faxes MUST be sent from a fax machine - original documents with signatures, newsletters composed with desktop publishing software, charts and illustrations, to name a few. MCI Fax Broadcast is the ideal service to help you with those faxing needs. If you are sending a single fax, or broadcasting the fax to 100 recipients, MCI Fax Broadcast provides toll free access, six second incremental billing, custom cover sheets, 24 hours of retries, status and accounting reports and access controls - all from your fax machine. Distribution lists can be stored on MCI (note - MCI Mail Fax Dispatch and MCI Fax Broadcast lists are not interchangeable), and free software is available to help you update those lists. There is no registration fee for MCI Fax Broadcast - you pay only for what you send, when you send it. If you are interested in learning more about MCI Fax Broadcast, please e-mail your fax number to mailbox 218-0241. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> DOW JONES AVAILABLE WORLD WIDE ON MCI MAIL >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> If you use MCI Mail from non domestic locations, you can now request access to Dow Jones News Retrieval Services. Once registered for the service, you can type DOW while on-line with MCI MAIL to gain access. Some of the more popular on-line services are Dow Jones Business Newswires (which combines Dow Jones' five real-time news wires and two corporate release wires); Dow Jones Clipping Service (an electronic news monitoring service that automatically gathers articles of interest to subscribers and stores them in electronic folders for later viewing); Tradeline (which provides up to 15 years of historical information on more than 25,000 issues traded on 90 exchanges); Japan Economic Daily (which

provides same day coverage of Japanese economic, political and financial market news from the Kyodo News Service); Worldscope (which offers reports on 4,500 corporations in 25 countries). Pricing for the service varies according to the country of the subscriber and the categories accessed. If you are interested in accessing Dow Jones from outside of the United States, please send a message to mailbox 218-0241. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> TELEPUTING VIA MCI MAIL >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Teleputing Hotline is a weekly newsletter, delivered by MCI Fax and MCI Mail, focusing on telephone-computer connections worldwide. Using the resources of the Newsbytes News Network, it covers both wireless and wired stories others miss, giving its readers a focused briefing -- with contacts -on trends they need to follow for worldwide competitiveness. This year they're focusing more closely on Field Computing, the linking of workers outside the home office to their headquarters using handheld terminals and wireless networks. The Teleputing Hotline has become, in the last 4 years, a leading voice in covering telephone-connections worldwide. While retaining its leadership, it also plans to expand its coverage of a worldwide revolution called Field Computing. Field Computing involves linking workers outside the office -- in sales, repair, delivery functions and others -- to central computer systems with handheld terminals and wireless data networks. The Teleputing Hotline has covered this trend since its inception, and will expand its coverage. The Hotline can be delivered directly to your MCI mailbox or fax machine, 50 times each year, for $198. Send a message to Teleputing Hotline / MCI ID: 409-8960 to order your subscription. They'll send you 4 issues free. If you're dissatisfied merely write CANCEL on the bill and owe nothing. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LETS SEE YOUR ID #1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> You'd never hand out a business card without your address or phone number. Why should your e-mail address be any different? You know MCI Mail is a great way to communicate, and you wish more people would reach you this way. Well, maybe they would if they knew you had MCI Mail. Put your MCI Mail address (ID number) to your business card so your business associates will know all the ways they can reach you. If you've already done this, terrific. You're one of the Great Communicators we're looking for. Your MCI Mail address can appear in either of two formats (better yet... use both!). The common format used for the MCI Mail Address is: MCI Mail ID: 123-4567 <---- Your MCI ID

Additionally, since you can communicate with other e-mail services world wide, you would be wise to display your X.400 address too. Its format is: X.400:C=US;A=MCI;S={last name};D=ID=123-4567 <--- Your MCI ID If you have either your MCI ID, or your MCI X.400 address on your business card, send it to MCI before April 30, 1992 and you'll get a free t-shirt, and you might even win a Poqet PC (PC in a palm top!) worth $2500. Mail your card in a #10 envelope to: MCI Mail c/o Travinlee 44 Bayberry Lane Middletown, NJ 07748 For more information about the promotion, please call 1-800-444-6245. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LETS SEE YOUR ID #2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> If you are a full time college student (and have an ID to prove it), have we got a deal for you! For a one-time $10.00 registration fee and a $5.00 monthly fee, you can send up to 100 e-mail messages each month. Additional messages and alternate delivery (including telex, fax, and hardcopy postal and courier) messages and other services are priced at the regular low MCI Mail rates. Under this new option, MCI has waived the annual subscription fee. To register, you must provide a copy of your student graduation. The College Mail Plan will be billed to Visa or MasterCard account. Once enrolled, the plan of each year and you must contact MCI to renew for a ID card and the year of your American Express, is good through August 31 subsequent year.

Each of the 100 e-mail messages may be up to 7,500 characters in length. If a message exceeds 7,500 characters, then each 7,500 increment will be counted as an additional message. You may use the service to keep in touch with relatives and friends, to communicate with advisors, and to share experiences and exchange information with students around the world. The College Mail Plan will also allow you to communicate with users of Internet, the nationwide umbrella encompassing 1,000 registered networks in academic, government and research communities, which MCI Mail has been interconnected with since 1989. If you (or someone you know) is a full time college student and wants to apply for this type of account, please FAX the students name, address, phone number along with the credit card information and a copy of the student ID to 212-787-2416. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 2400 BAUD GOES 8 BIT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> On January 10th, MCI Mail upgraded the modems of the 800-456-6245 access

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> POWER USER: MOVING LOTUS EXPRESS MESSAGES BETWEEN FOLDERS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> One of the several area where Lotus Express shines is its ability to strengthen your finger muscles. A simple task of moving a message from one folder to another can consume several keystrokes. Moving all of the message in a folder to another can leave your fingers gasping for air and sweating on

the palm. For those of you who are keyboard potatoes, the below batch file can keep you fingers from doing the walking. The below batch file will take all messages and attachments that are currently in one Lotus Express folder and move then to another folder. From the DOS Command line you name both the source and destination folder. The syntax of the file is as follows: LEMOVE {source folder} {destination folder} EXAMPLE: To move all mail in the incoming folder to a folder call read you would issue the command: LEMOVE incoming read The LEMOVE.BAT is shown below. You can use a text editor or the Reader to create this file. :loop \mailsys\getfile temp -folder %1 -delete if not exist temp goto done \mailsys\mailfile temp -folder %2 goto loop :done cls echo FILES MOVED >>>>>>>>>>>>>> TILL NEXT TIME >>>>>>>>>>>>>> To the young men and women who are reaching for their Olympian best: We are proud of you. Good luck. Gary....... MCI Mail Agency NY4 MCI ID# 218-0241 Fax: 212-787-2416 Telex: 6502180241 Tel No. 212-724-9785
