AGOURA  HILLS  MAYOR  AND  CITY  LEADERS  ENDORSE   TORIE  OSBORN  FOR  STATE  ASSEMBLY

Osborn  Scores  Crucial  Endorsements  from  Influential  Local  Mayor,  Former  Mayor,  and  Mayor  Pro-‐Tem

SANTA  MONICA,  CA-‐  Agoura  Hills  Mayor  Harry  Schwarz,  Mayor  Pro-‐Tem  Dan  Kuperberg,  and  former  Mayor   Ed  Corridori  all  endorsed  veteran  non-‐profit  executive  Torie  Osborn  in  her  bid  to  fill  California’s  new  vacant   50th  Assembly  District  seat.        “Torie  Osborn  is  a  natural  born  leader,  a  brave  fighter,  and  someone  who  will  stand  up  and  be  a  powerful   voice  for  the  residents  of  California’s  new  50th  Assembly  District,”  said  Mayor  Harry  Schwarz.    “That’s  why  I   am  happy  to  throw  my  full  support  behind  her  candidacy  to  be  our  next  Assemblywoman.”       “I’m  proud  to  have  the  backing  of  Agoura  Hills  Mayor  Harry  Schwarz,  Mayor  Pro-‐Tem  Dan  Kuperberg,  and   former  Mayor  Ed  Corridori  in  my  race  for  Assembly,”  said  Osborn.    “The  city  of  Agoura  Hills  is  a  key  part  of   this  district,  and  having  their  support  send  a  strong  message  to  residents  there  that  I  will  fight  for  them.”       “California  is  hurting,  and  we  need  innovative  and  bold  ideas  on  how  to  fix  our  tough  problems.  When  I  go  to   the  State  Legislature,  I’ll  work  to  bring  people  together  and  build  a  coalition  of  leaders  from  all  across  our   state  who  are  willing  to  work  collectively  to  focus  on  solutions  to  fix  our  schools,  our  sagging  economy,  ailing   infrastructure,  budget  crisis,  and  inadequate  healthcare  system,”  added  Osborn.     Recently,  Osborn  announced  the  endorsement  of  Los  Angeles  Mayor  Antonio  Villaraigosa  and  Los  Angeles  City   Councilman  Bill  Rosendahl.  Osborn  has  also  received  powerful  endorsements  from  Congresswoman  Karen   Bass,  and  Assemblywoman  Julia  Brownley  who  currently  holds  the  seat,  as  well  as  former  State  Senator  Sheila   James  Kuehl.   In  the  most  recent  fundraising  report,  Osborn  netted  a  whopping  $215,000  in  just  the  first  six  months  of  this   year,  for  a  total  of  $294,400  since  announcing  her  candidacy,  late  last  year.  She  has  nearly  1,000  individual   donors  and  a  long  list  of  prominent  endorsements,  showing  an  unusually  committed  level  of  support  and   momentum,  especially  for  a  first-‐time  candidate.     Osborn  is  acclaimed  for  her  pioneering  leadership  as  an  executive  at  several  nonprofit  organizations,   including  the  Liberty  Hill  Foundation  and  the  Los  Angeles  Gay  &  Lesbian  Center  –  both  of  which  are  located  in   the  new  50th  Assembly  District  –  as  well  as  United  Way  of  Greater  LA.  Osborn  also  served  as  a  senior  policy   advisor  on  homelessness,  poverty  and  economic  development  to  Los  Angeles  Mayor  Antonio  Villaraigosa.  She   is  currently  a  senior  strategist  for  California  Calls,  a  network  of  25  organizations  throughout  the  state   committed  to  commonsense  governmental  reform.
