3. Each team consists of 3 or 4 players 6 years or older (4 play-
ers strongly suggested to allow one as a substitute). All games
must start with at least three players on each team. Any number
of players (1,2,3) may complete a game. Teams with 3 or 4
players pay the same entry fee. Players may be registered on
only one team. A player registered to play on more than one
team could be disqualified from the tournament and forfeit
the game.
4. It is necessary for each player on your team to sign the
completed form to signify his/her agreement with the infor-
mation contained in it. Please do NOT mail entry without
ALL SIGNATURES.
5. Attention Minors: Both you and your parent or guardian
must sign the Release Waiver & Sportsmanship Pledge. Teams
will not be registered without these signatures.
6. How to Compile a Team: Generally, brackets are complied
based on each player’s age, height and playing experience. In
order to bracket all teams in a limited number of playing courts,
teams are generally placed into 16 team brackets. Event Orga-
nizers may not be able to follow its guidelines in all instances
as they bracket the tournament. Remember, player heights may
be checked and improper entry form information could lead
. t n e m a n r u o t e h t m o r f d e fi i l a u q s i d g n i e b s m a e t r o s r e y a l p o t
Wherever possible, Event Organizers use the following brack-
eting guidelines, which you may want to consider when form-
ing your team.
• Adults are placed in brackets based on the height of its tallest
player.
• Separate brackets will be used for teams with all players in the
6 ft & under recreation division. Additional breakdowns will be
made for teams with players over 6 ft tall.
• Adult teams will be placed in brackets based on the youngest
player’s age.
• Youth and High School teams will be places in brackets based
on the oldest player’s grade.
• Event Organizers expect that most adult age brackets will be
in 2-5 year increments (for example, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc…)
• An attempt will be made to schedule youth and high school
teams against other teams of the same age grade (for example
4th grade, 5th grade, etc…). Depending on the number of en-
tries, youth teams may be bracketed against older youth teams.
• Co-ed and family teams are bracketed based on the number of
co-ed and family entries. Historically there have been wide age
variances within co-ed and family brackets. Co-ed and family
teams will be based on the team’s oldest player.
7. Special Rules for Youth Brackets: Court monitors will
call fouls in the youngest youth brackets. All players 12 years
and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times during
the event. Brackets consisting of predominantly 1st through 4th
graders will play on lower baskets.
8. Divisions: Each team selects its own division on this regis-
tration form. Event Organizers then divide divisions into brack-
ets according to team player’s age, height and level of play-
ing experience, as completed on this registration form. Team
captains should verify player registration form. Players sub-
mitting inaccurate information on their registration form will
be disqualified form the tournament. Incomplete information
submitted on this form may cause your entry to be returned to
you for completion, which could cause your team to lose its
place in the tournament. Players not officially registered are
not allowed on any team.
• Adult Open Division – Male: This division is for top adult
players wanting to play in the most competitive division. The
entry fee is higher as special prizes will be awarded in this divi-
sion. All men’s Open Division games will be officiated.
• Regular Division for Adult, High School and Youth: These
are the divisions in which the vast majority of teams will
play.*
• Co-ed Divisions: Must have one member of the opposite sex
on the court at all times.*
• Family Divisions: If all members of your team are related,
and you want to play against other “family” teams, this division
may be for you. The Family Division is set up for players seek-
ing a memorable playing experience with family members.* All
Family Division games will be limited to 25 minutes.
• Corporate Division: All players must work and be on the
payroll for the same corporation on which team they are play-
ing. Each registered player must work a minimum of 10 hours
a week during the previous 3 months. This rule will be strictly
enforced. Corporate Division teams are limited to within a 50-
mile radius of Walla Walla.
9. All YMCA Peach Basket Classic games will take place on the
streets of downtown Walla Walla.
10. All teams registered in the tournament will play a minimum
of 3 games, subject to adverse weather conditions and court
availability. The 3-on3 tournament is a double-elimination
tournament with a “last chance” category for teams that lose
their first two games. Teams that lose their first two games
are encouraged to show up for their third game. Please con-
tact Event Officials prior to the game if you do not plan to
participate.
11. Event Organizers reserve the right to spot-check a player’s
entry form data. False information will be grounds for dismiss-
al from the tournament. Each adult player is required to carry
personal identification at the tournament.
12. Adverse weather conditions and unplayable situations may
result in modification or cancellation of the event. Under these
unlikely circumstances, each team will receive its player T-
shirts and registration packet. Under no circumstances will the
entry fee be refunded.
*The Competitive and Recreation Divisions may be combined
based on the number of entries.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
Please remember that this is a YMCA event. The Walla
Walla Y is committed to strengthening communities
in the areas of youth development, healthy living and
social responsibility. Play hard, play fair and have fun.
That’s all we ask. Thank you!
