Psychology problems with Milgram experiment:
Milgram experiment was a series of experiment conducted by Stanley Milgram a professor by profession in Yale University. This experiment was conducted to check the social behavior of people when they were asked by their superior to do some work which was not permitted by their conscience. Many a critical view has been exclaimed over this work as it was considered unethical observation. These experiments were considered very controversial. In this paper we will explore alternative Milgram experiment which can avoid unethical practices and be less controversial. The paper will explore obedience and the way it is conducted. Our hypothesis ‘Obedience is practiced by people if forced into them by superiors’ Experimental Setup In this setup we will observe employees under the work environment. This will allow us to understand the work relationship that each employee shares against each other. After this evaluation , next would be to assign the set of employees under which or with which we will be working. Psychologists use naturalistic observation to study human or animal behavior in its natural context. One psychologist with this real-life orientation might observe behavior in a school or a factory; another might actually join a family to study the behavior of its members; still another might observe monkeys in the wild rather than in cages. The primary advantage of naturalistic observation is that the behavior observed in everyday life is likely tobe more natural, spontaneous, and varied than that observed in a laboratory. How the method was chosen? Naturalistic observation is not without its drawbacks. Psychologists using naturalistic observation have to take behavior as it comes. They cannot suddenly yell, “Freeze!” when they want to study in more detail what is going on. Nor can psychologists tell people to stop what they are doing because it is not what the psychologists are interested in researching. Moreover,

simply describing one’s impressions of “a day in the life” of a particular group or the way that different people behave in the same setting is not science. Observers must measure behavior in a systematic way, for example, by devising a form that enables them tocheck at timed intervals what people are doing. The main drawback in naturalistic observation is observer bias. Our strategy was to formulate a method which will avoid much of an experimental setup. We want to be more careful in our observation and do it in the perfect manner.
