Rae Ann Gerhardt EXPERTISE: SPECIAL EDUCATION

RECOGNITION

Rae Ann Gerhardt brings over 30 years of special education program, policy, and funding leadership expertise to her role as a consultant for PCG Education. An expert in preschool special education, Rae Ann leads seminars on recommended practices for early intervention. Rae Ann’s vast experience is highly valued among PCG Education staff members and clients. She has led professional development trainings for school districts on Individualized Education Progam (IEP) best practices, with particular emphasis on how to create standards-based IEPs with measurable goals. She is a trusted advisor to PCG Education clients on any changes or enhancements to their special education management systems. Rae Ann served on the board of Student Support Team Association for Georgia Educators (SSTAGE) and is also an excellent resource for Response to Intervention (RtI) initiatives.

Rae Ann has been honored as the GA CEC Special Education Administrator of the Year, the Metro Atlanta Special Education Administrator of the Year, the G-CASE Lillie N. Moncus Outstanding Special Education Administrator and the CASE Outstanding Special Education Administrator. These honors were bestowed upon her for her pioneering leadership, as evidenced by her implementation of standards for education services for preschool children with disabilities and for a statewide endorsement for teaching preschool special education.

EXPERIENCE Rae Ann’s experience in special education includes holding various positions at the state and local levels, as well as through her professional volunteerism and service in GCASE, GA-CEC and GAEL. Past positions include Special Education Administrator, Fulton County Schools; Coordinator, Preschool Special Education, Henry County Schools; and Associate Director and Preschool Special Education Consultant , Georgia Department of Education. With each job and service organization title, Rae Ann developed her reputation as an innovator and leader. Rae Ann has expertise in special education compliance, policy, program development, and instructional leadership.
