Install the base package by typing:
/media/cdrom/INSTALL -b <Enter>
Respond to the on screen prompts. For more detailed information and
assistance with table sizings or optional settings, please refer to the
Picture Perfect v4 Installation Manual.
When prompted, reboot the system. Unmount the CD and remove it
from the CD-ROM drive.

Open Internet Explorer and type in a URL to connect to the server:
http://<hostname>/Picture
Install Java:
Click the J2SE Java Runtime Environment (JRE) link on the Picture
Perfect webtop. Accept the defaults and click Next as required.
Specify Java Runtime Parameters:
Right-click the Java (coffee mug) icon on the right-hand side of the
Windows taskbar. Select Open Control Panel. Click the Advanced
tab. In the Java Runtime Parameters text box, enter a new memory
specification:
• If your workstation memory is 512, enter: -Xms192m -Xmx384m
• If your workstation memory is 1024 or above, enter:
-Xms384m -Xmx512m
Click Apply.
Disable Client JVM Automatic Updates:
Click the Update tab. Make sure that Check for Updates
Automatically is not selected.

6. Start Picture Perfect and log on
To ensure connectivity, from a Picture Perfect 4.0 client workstation,
perform the following steps:
1. Open Internet Explorer and type in a URL to connect to the server:
http://<hostname>/Picture
2. Log on as install.

1. Meet software requirements

Note: Picture Perfect 4.0 Service Pack 1.5 supports Red Hat Linux 4.0 Update 4,

3. Install and configure the server operating system
Make sure your server OS is installed and configured in accordance with
the instructions in the Picture Perfect v4 Installation Manual.

Read and accept the Picture Perfect license agreement and record the
number to obtain a license key from UTC Fire & Security Support.
Press Enter to proceed with the installation of additional AIX filesets.
When prompted, remove the Picture Perfect Installation CD and insert
the appropriate AIX CDs.
When prompted, insert the Picture Perfect Utilities CD, which contains
various packages, such as HTTP Server, Mozilla, and Java 1.4,
required to run Picture Perfect.
When prompted, remove the Picture Perfect Utilities CD, and insert
the appropriate AIX CD. When the installation is complete and any
updates applied, the system reboots.
Remove the AIX CD and insert the Picture Perfect Installation CD. If
necessary, mount the CD.
Change to the root directory:
cd /<Enter>
Install the base package by typing:
/mnt/INSTALL -b <Enter>
Respond to the on screen prompts. For more detailed information and
assistance with table sizings or optional settings, please refer to the
Picture Perfect v4 Installation Manual.
When prompted, reboot the system. Unmount the CD and remove it
from the CD-ROM drive.

IBM AIX

The following CD sets are required:
• AIX 5L Operating System
• AIX 5L Expansion Pack
• AIX 5L Bonus Pack (Optional)
• AIX 5L Documentation
• AIX 5L Update
• Picture Perfect Version 4.0 Installation CD
• Picture Perfect v4 IBM AIX 5L Utilities CD

The following CD sets are required:
• Red Hat Linux 4.0 Operating System
• Picture Perfect Version 4.0 Installation CD
1. Log on to the system as the root user and open a new terminal
window.
2. Insert the Picture Perfect Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive and
when the CD-ROM light stops blinking, mount the CD.
mount /media/cdrom <Enter>
3. Install the Picture Perfect Linux filesets by typing:
/media/cdrom/INSTALL -u <Enter>
4. Read and accept the Picture Perfect license agreement and record the
number to obtain your license key from UTC Fire & Security Support.
5. When the installation is complete and any updates applied, the system
exits to the command prompt. Type reboot to reboot the system.

Note: These instructions assume a graphical terminal.

Insert the Picture Perfect Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive and
when the CD-ROM light stops blinking, mount the CD.
mount -v cdfrs -o ro /dev/cd0 /mnt <Enter>
Install the Picture Perfect AIX filesets by typing:
/mnt/INSTALL -u <Enter>

Change to the root directory:
cd /<Enter>
