REAL CLEANERS Feedback on: The CRI “Seal of Approval” Testing Program
Professional Cleaners’ opinions on this matter...and we want to be heard.

CRI-SOA Issues:
THE SOA TESTING PROCESS Strongly Agree Agree Disagree Strongly Disagree

Notes:

Testing with only dry matter DOES NOT replicate real-world soiling situations. Equipment and solution testing SHOULD include oily soils. Different soiling conditions or challenges can change my tool/solution choices. The technician’s talents/skills are more important than the tool/solution choices. CRI’s ranking of a rental machine as a top choice undermines the entire SOA test. Giving a higher rank for those who “improve most” or who “pay more for Gold or Platinum” instead of by what performs BEST makes the test ranks meaningless.
CRI TRANSPARENCY AND COMMUNICATION

Telling the public that “only the best pass the test” is not being honest with them. High testing fees for product makers will be passed on to cleaners as higher prices. The use of NASA seems to be a marketing ploy rather than scientific credibility. Not involving cleaners in the test design undermines the integrity of this program. Improperly installed carpet is what the CRI should focus on. This is a real concern. Real-time reviews by cleaners would rank product performance better than SOA. As the test stands now, I have no confidence in many products with a SOA ranking.

Thank you CRI for taking the time to read an opinion from a REAL cleaner out in the field helping to keep homes and offices healthy and clean.
